Description

Downloaded some music you bought online, but playing it back in Files just isn’t the same? View your library in a beautiful Grid, List, or Cover Flow view, with a player which will beautifully display the art and/or lyrics.

Medlied is an app for managing your local music & video library of MP3 and MP4 files, with support for editing file metadata via long-press / right click. Music can be added to the queue from your library, or from external sources, with options to shuffle and loop tracks.

Designed to avoid the need to use a Mac to edit one’s local library, edits can be made in-place, and files can be stored anywhere.

Editable file metadata currently includes Title, Album, Artist, Track and Disk Numbers, Artwork, and Lyrics. Unchanged metadata will be preserved when editing.

Disclaimer: As edits are performed in-place, don’t make edits if you need to preserve original files.
It’s recommended to mark the chosen library folder as available offline if stored in cloud services, as metadata can only be read when the files is available offline. Medlied will attempt to download all media files in the library folder on launch to make them available when queued.

Nouveautés

Version 1.3.1

FEATURES
• Queue tracks from external sources! The tracks menu now includes a “Queue track” option which presents a file picker.
• Bigger artwork and videos! The app now wraps video just like it does images, no more black bars. It will then try to make the video/image as big as possible, while keeping the lyrics readable.
• Cleaner UI, with Settings now moved to the tracks menu. The page is still important as a means to view the current library folder, but isn’t frequently needed.
• Skip & shuffle controls added to the Now Playing banner context menu, and remain available in the Up Next’s buttons menu. Skip especially makes more sense on Now Playing!

TWEAKS
• Adjusted the width at which the library controls split to the floating variant, to ensure a gap. Default text sizes on portrait phones now get the full-width controls. Adjust your text size down slightly to keep the split form!
• “Add track” now reads “Import track”.

FIXES
• Removed concurrency that could cause the load to stall in some cases.
• When adding tracks to the library, the app was forgetting about your other tracks until next relaunch. Fixed!
• The floating form of the Now Playing banner now zooms in cleanly when long-pressing.
• Now Playing is also tappable across the full width now, rather than just the title and art! This should make things easier on phone screens.
• Touches on the lower portion of the playback controls on the library view could fail. Tracked down the cause as specifying the button shape for interactions, which deprioritised touches in favour of nearby controls, such as the volume slider. The volume slider will now be sized correctly too, as it was still using the height from the old text-size-aware slider.
• Currently playing music will be paused when changing library folder. Seamless playback when changing library folder is not currently supported.
