Description

MIDI Recorder with E.Piano simply performs record/playback as you input MIDI signals.
You can record your performance completely. As a bonus, the app includes FM E.Piano sounds.
Also there is an on-screen keyboard, you can make a note of your idea anywhere.
All features are available without subscription.

- You can toggle kinds of signals to record.
- You can select MIDI channels.
- By default the app processes signals from/to all connected MIDI ports.
- The app makes files of Standard MIDI File Format 0.
- iTunes File Sharing and iCloud are supported.
- Virtual MIDI is supported.
- Supports external MIDI keyboards.

MIDI is a standard about controlling audio devices.
You can control musical instruments with separately sold MIDI adapter for iPhone/iPad.

The internal FM synthesizer processes only note on, note off, and sustain control, and ignores the others.

Attention:
This app may sound even if the silent switch is on.

super useful just a few suggestions

A super useful app I recommend.

It would be even better with
- a built in metronome!
- the ability for record to start when the first Midi note is played (to avoid gaps/silences at the beginning of recordings
- Midi Capture feature (just like Ableton’s Capture that can remember the last played Midi - even if record wasn’t enabled
- looping with overdub would take it to the next level (maybe another app).

Please keep the split screen, it’s so useful with Midi apps.

Great app for piano recording

I’m using it to record my piano improvisations with a simple and easy setup :
- BLE link from Clavinova MIDI OUT to my iPhone
- This app to record, then export the MIDI file

Nice and simple ! Possible to add a metronome ?

Nice app, very fast and intuitive !

A have a small issue though : when I open a midi file recorded with this app in a midi editor, the notes I played don’t align on bars, but they shift. Makes sense : the midi recorder doesn’t know how long a bar is for me, it just knows about the absolue notes duration.

Do you think you could add a metronome so that it defines how long a quarter note lasts, and when a bar starts, so that the midi file would make sense musically ?
