Fail to download key

The OpenKey app is completely unreliable, it didn’t work at all, and the download key process kept failing, leaving me unable to access my room. To make matters worse, I had the same issue a year ago, and nothing has changed since then. Requiring a phone number to access the app is also a terrible system for travelers, as it creates unnecessary complications and extra costs. It’s really frustrating to deal with such a messy and stressful process, especially when it’s supposed to make things easier for guests. The app can’t even do its basic job, making it impossible to plan ahead. This is unacceptable for something meant to help travelers. It needs to be fixed urgently.

We're sorry you've had problems when using our app. Requiring a phone number enables custom digital key creation and secure delivery to only the assigned guest. As long as the correct country code is included with the guest’s phone number, the guest receives a welcome text that directs them to download the app. Data roaming is necessary for international guests to receive the text, but it isn’t required for app download or key delivery. Most often, mobile key delivery is seamless, and we’d like the opportunity to understand what went wrong in your situation.
