Cannot open my sqlite files creaed on macOS via the sqlite API

Environment: OS X 10.9.5
- The App only displays a window with a single button "Open Database".
- One cannot drag/drop any file onto it.
- When clicking the Open Database button, the File Open sheet enables to open only files with a .db extension. My sqlite files have no extension, so I hade to copy them onto the Desktop and add the extension.
- Then the files appear in the sheet, I can select one, and…. an empty grey window* appears and the one with the Open Database button reappears.
That’s it, this App is useless for me.
(At work I am used to open the files I just tried to open with other software like sqlitebrowser.app from http://sqlitebrowser.org, unfortunately apparently not available on the App Store.)

(*) Many errors or warnings are reported in system.log like:
Ridill SQLIte[614]: -[NSTableColumn setTitle:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x6000000940a0
Ridill SQLIte[614]: view service marshal for <NSRemoteView: 0x7fa19a478910> failed to forget accessibility connection due to Error…
etc.
