Addressed compliance with Apple changes. Please note the app no longer supports iOS 11. We also added more new words to the word list. Among others, now allowed for your scoring pleasure are wingsuiting, agrivoltaics, bargoer, churnalism, grolar, pizzly, zatrikion, hyperforeignism, kyawthuite, typosquatting, petrostate and sonoluminescence. Besides making additions to the wordlist, we found an issue that only seemed to come up in Apple's iOS simulator, not on actual devices, but just in case, we're including a fix. It had to do with reopening the app if it left the background after a completed game. It all came down to the little asterisk you see after placing the last letter.

Under the hood: Corrected a syntactical omission we found related to scrolling the list of formed words on the left. Further edited the acceptable wordlist. If you're using the search box area to see if something is an acceptable word, and happen to tap outside the search box before you've finished typing, resuming typing is now seamless. Edited the wordlist, restored standard display for older iPads, further allowed for dismissing a wordlist search before tapping the return key.

Support for the latest iPads. For consistency, we've also opted to show the status bar on all home buttonless iPads.

Version 1.6.4 inadvertently incorporated a generic, default set of iOS specifications, which, among other things, meant the new typeface for Cyrano didn't appear. We're back to our specific set with this release. We also dealt with an issue where, when searching if a word is in the acceptable wordlist, tapping outside the search box before hitting the return key left the partially typed word in the search area. Now tapping outside the search area clears any unexecuted searches and dismisses the keyboard.

Improved touch sensitivity when placing letters in Love Letters, 8-Spot and Cyrano. Resolved remaining cases in those three modes where Blu Yonder's longest word(s) list was formed but didn't appear. Edited word list.

Resolved three issues: In Cyrano, "longest word(s)" weren't being tabulated properly. Now they are. In 8-Spot and Cyrano, when allowing profanity to be scored (the default is not allowing profanity), Blu Yonder's score should have been calculated according to each mode's scoring system. Now it is. When viewing stats in 8-Spot and Cyrano, the "longest word(s)" list didn't display even though the word(s) showed when toggling the green upper right score ellipse. Now the list also shows.

Speed improvements in 8-Spot and Cyrano, expanded wordlist, and a small graphics change.

This addresses an issue with version 1.5.8 in which 8-Spot games wouldn't reopen if the app went out of the (App Switcher) background. These reopen now as before. We've seen one case where such a resumed game didn't count all the subsequently formed words and Blu Yonder needed a double switching of the switch icon, and are working on resolving this case. Introducing 8-Spot, our latest variation: "Spot" letter placements by starting the game with the first several letters already randomly placed. Taking you just enough out of your comfort zone to keep things unpredictable and make words you wouldn't have considered. With bonus points for pre-placed letters. As always, long-press New Game to bring up the variations, swiping a game name and tapping the checkmark and "Done."

Mainly updated the acceptable wordlist with new entries like embiggen, spork and zonkey. Also, although we've expanded the wordlist before, newly added words would be scored if you made them, though wouldn't be listed as "Ok" when searching with the search box. Now in addition to scoring, they'll be shown as "Ok" when searching as well.

For existing users who've had the app since version 1.4.8 or earlier, our latest game mode, Love Letters, now appears properly in the game manager. As always, to access the game manager, long-press New Game. Swipe right on a game name for info, and swipe left to reveal a check mark. Tap the check mark to select the game, and then tap Done. In Love Letters, you fill candy hearts with letters, letting multicolored short words shine for more points.
