It's been a while and we're excited to offer a new version of Wirecast Go! Change highlights:

* Improved stability & quality of Rendezvous calls on iOS
* Improved quality of Wirecast Cam mode
* Send Rendezvous calls through the device speakers by default
* Dark mode improvements and other iOS 13 fixes
* Haptic notification when entering a Rendezvous session
* Squashed a bunch of bugs related to landscape mode
* Prefer showing the IPv4 address of the device for Wirecast Cam connections
* A bunch of other small tweaks...

Confused positioning between free and commercial

This application is poorly designed. It meets two very different needs. These two needs are mixed in a commercial logic that seems to me dubious.

I tried in vain to contact the developer via the forum. No serious answer was given to my request for an explanation on the positioning. Lt is necessary to understand that one does not find this application by chance, there is an obligation of use for the customers of the application MacOS Wirecast. This broadcasting application is quite expensive: $599 or $799 depending on the number of participants invited to the sessions, respectively 2 or 7.

These invited participants must download this application Wirecast Go to be able to participate in the sessions.

So far so good, as the use of the application for this purpose is free.

There is another use of the application that is not free. This introduces a lot of confusion for the participants invited to the sessions. They wonder whether they have to pay to participate in the sessions to which they are invited. You need to reassure them each time that they do not need to pay for the application. However, when you invite participants, it is extremely damaging to the relationship with them to have to ask if they have to buy the application.

It breaks the trust you are trying to build with them.

Speaking of trust, as of today (11 March 2021), the developer has not seen fit to respond to Apple's privacy requests.

Another strange thing is that the comments have been reset recently. Although the last update was almost 10 months ago, one can imagine that there were comments. Were they positive? Were they negative? We don't know. The developer did not wish to respond to a request for an explanation.

It seems to me that common sense would be to separate this application into a free application and a commercial one and not to mix two uses for very different needs.

But again, and I deeply regret this, it is difficult to discuss openly with the developer. After some tense exchanges, I received a cold reply: “We are not going to discuss our development or business strategy publicly “.
