Fast Track to Your Ticket
How can you buy your tickets even faster and get updates on your journey on top of that? You get it with the ÖBB App, round the clock, wherever you are. Take the train and take it easy.
The ÖBB App comes with the following features:
• Tickets for trains, buses, the metro and trams: book your ÖBB tickets & get exclusive online specials such as the Sparschiene Österreich discount fares. You can also book the city tickets and weekly or monthly tickets of Austrian regional transport operators
• Pay your fares on the go with SimplyGo! The handy add-on for the ÖBB App automatically identifies the routes you travelled and calculates the matching public transport fare for your complete journey
• Secure your favourite seat on the Railjet: use the graphic seat reservation
• Find the best fare: see the ÖBB train services sorted by lowest fare first
• ÖBB Account: conveniently and securely store your personal data and means of payment, save your favourite routes, and receive additional exclusive offers (e.g. the Vorteilscard 66 discount card)
We are continuously working on the app to enrich it with new features and improve the usability.

More work needed
Be aware that delays and replacement bus services are not shown when booking, even when the delays are known to ÖBB.
Also over complicated when paying with card.
Only reason I give 2 stars is because using the app saves paper and in theory time when booking.
Seatbooking fixed, now crashes when opening shopping basket
Dear Austrian Railway Team, It would be really helpfull if you would start to put a little bit more effort in the mobile apps! - Every time i click on the shopping basket the App crashes! (Had to buy ticket on the computer) - Every time i click on journey details, app crashes! These are just two fault I found,… it seems comments and feedback are ignored anyway and there is no “report problem” button in the App,… Br Gernot
Addition June 3rd 2024:
- app does not give updated information about connections (you'll know you miss your connection but it does not bring any form of information what is the next possible connection)
- app does not offer any form of review of the service recieved on the train
- app does not offer any form of refund claims
- app does not allow to prebook seats in traveling direction which is very important for some people (on IC Train)
I will travel the last time with the Train to the Airport now (simply because i booked the train allready) after this i will drive with rental car (saves me the costs of booking a hotel, saves me the troubles of constantly checking for missed connections and what train to take next)
Thank you very much OEBB you did help me to make a decision! Partly due to your terrible service, partly due to the app not being improved over so many years!
Decent app, payment is quite bad though
App works fine, but the payment system is really too old.
There should be a way to make payments easy, the process is too complicated if you don’t have a credit card, which costs money. Most people
Own a debit card nowadays cmon guys!
The bank transfer function is complicated too, resulting in having to go mostly at the station in advance to get tickets like 10 years ago 😕
