Recommended to me; recommended by me

This app was recommended to my by both teachers at Complete Unity Yoga (thanks Malene and Will) and I’m so glad they did. I have done meditation before but had got out of the habit; without a teacher to guide me, I found it was never as good practicing on my own. That is where 1 Giant Mind comes in - you have someone to guide you through the meditation. It’s like having a teacher in your phone. It seems to be completely free. I have been using it for nearly a month and haven’t been asked to pay for anything yet. There is no belief system involved (though the technique is descended from Indian traditions as he explains in the podcasts - you don’t need to know or believe anything about that though). I will pass Malene and Wills recommendation to me on to you. It’s great.

Excellent meditation app

I've meditated for years, and tried this firstly to see if I could recommend it to my Alexander Technique students who might be interested in starting a meditation practice - however I like it so much, I've continued using it myself. The instructions, voices, pace and music, and the choices offered once you've completed the 12-day course, are all as near to perfect as one could ask, especially in a free app. I would happily pay something for this, especially if it gave a facility to ask a few questions.

One or two quibbles about the app itself, which took it down to four stars for me. The white writing on pale background is difficult to see, at least for older eyes. And it would be nice if the timer stayed onscreen when the phone turns off, as some apps do. I know we wouldn't want to make a habit of looking at the timer necessarily, but occasionally it's good to be able to do so.

Thank you to the team who made this available, it has reenergised my practice.

A little gem!

I have practiced meditation before I found this app, but no other meditation training has been as informative and pleasant!
I actually find myself looking forward to my morning meditation, rather than experiencing it as a chore.
One suggestion for improvement: can we download ALL the content when we download the app to start with? At the moment you have to complete a step to then download the next step. And if you are going away with little access to internet (or internet being very expensive), it becomes a barrier.
