The 3CX client for iOS only works with 3CX Phone System v16 and V15.5. It will not work with other commercial or open-source PBXs. Some features will only work with Version 16 so it is recommended to update your 3CX Server installation to V16.

This app allows you to make and receive office calls on your device from anywhere. The app fully supports PUSH, allowing your device to be on standby when not in use and save battery life. When an incoming call occurs on your office extension, your device will 'wake up' and notify you as it would with a regular GSM call.

Benefits include:

- Make and receive calls on your smartphone/tablet from your office extension.
- One number concept. Calls made to your office extension will ring on your iOS device.
- Reduced mobile phone bill; call colleagues via the 3CX client rather than via the mobile network.
- Seamless out of office or in office detection.
- Transfer & Hold calls.
- Easily change your status (available, busy etc.).
- Take multiple calls simultaneously.
- View the status of your colleagues.
- Easily setup conference calls.
- Instant Corporate Chat.

The 3CX client requires Apple PUSH to be configured by your organization's PBX administrator.

Would be great if it worked

It would be a great addition to your work toolkit if it worked. All too often calls received outside of the office ring, you answer and nobody there but the call still remains active. To the person calling it’s like you cancelled the call which is not great.

When I’m in the office all too often the 3CX app on my mobile doesn’t ring when I’m away for my desk - which is exactly what you want it for.

I suspect part of the problem is setup with the 3CX server / firewall but I notice problems increase / decreases with new versions of the App.

Almost there!

This is great for internal calling on WiFi and 3G/4G, external calling I’ve not bothered to setup because I don’t need that, but I imagine it’d work the same. However, only drawback I can think of is that you can call yourself and put yourself in your own queue. Now that you’d want to, but worth bringing this up only other drawback I can think of is the management console. When enabling managers via extensions, they can’t view or download call recordings unless you allow general (all) administration privellages, even when ticked. One final drawback is call recording. When recieving a call, the call should be recorded on both ends or on the end required for call recording. At the moment, it only records outgoing calls but not incoming calls unless the incoming extension is also set to record.

OVERALL: quality app, easy to set up and HIGHLY RECOMMEND for small businesses/startup companies and for tech students who want to figure these things out! Pretty cool, I say!

Good but not perfect

Requires good wifi and properly set up firewall to work properly, but works well when it's set up right.

It would be good to have better control of receiving calls when not connected to wifi- calls routed via 3/4G are very flakey, and potentially very expensive when roaming.

Biggest issue is that it does not seem to have access to the iOS contacts database properly.
