Description

Take high-quality, square photographs with 6x6. It's a reminder of the old 6cm (or 2¼-inch)-square medium format that was so popular with both amateurs and professionals using 120, 220 and 620 roll film. Because it just looks so good.

If you find other camera apps over-fussy (and their photographs annoyingly oblong) then 6x6 is the app for you. It stays out of your way as you focus on the most important aspect of photography: getting the right composition in the frame.

Just a bit too simple

Easy to use app with good image quality but let down by two issues that to me make it an 'also ran'. First, in black and white mode, the preview is in colour. Now I know that most apps also do this but in an app aimed at giving an analogue feel, this is a feature I would expect. The second issue it that no EXIF data is saved with the image and too me this is unacceptable. If these issues were resolved, I would use this app daily.

Fantastic 👍👍👍👍👍

This is my favourite camera app. It shoots in the square format so if you are uploading to Instagram then you know that what you see in the square box when you take the photo is what will be seen when you upload, no cropping needed. But what I really like about this app is that it is so fast, the fastest camera app I have tried. It's almost instant picture after picture without any pauses. Brilliant 👏👏👏

Ok, room for improvement

Does what it says on the tin, but is quite slow to save the image, and it tries to tell us that the lack of zoom is a 'feature' rather than an omission!

Could do with the camera roll icon to review your last image, like the normal camera has, and the addition of zoom would be very welcome.
