Only One Problem With ATJ

One the whole this is a very good puzzle game. It’s free to download and pay which is always good, but if you fail on a puzzle you go to jail and have to wait two minutes before you can proceed, that was a little frustrating for me so I paid the 99p to get a jail pass and not wait those two minutes, money well spent as I’m an impatient man. The puzzles is simplistic and a little frustrating at times but nothing really difficult that it annoys you, challenging enough to be fun. The only thing I didn’t like was that it has 41 puzzles to solve, so you could go through all this in an hour maybe two or three hours depending how good you are. I would like a follow up or more puzzles to be added later on.

Hey Damtay,
Thanks a lot for trying out our game and glad to see that you found it to be worth the spend!. We are working hard to add more levels as you requested. Expect a new update around this weekend with more exciting content. I am sure you will like it and give us one more star.

Pleasantly surprised!

A Thief's Journey was easy to learn, but difficult to master, which is exactly what I was after!

Level 41 had me stumped for 3 days!

Look forward to updates and further levels! 👍🏼

Honest Review: A Thief’s Journey

A Thief’s Journey started off with a very simple puzzle and tutorial. The gameplay is isometric with some interesting changes. The hazards become annoying from the moment the game introduces spotlights!

Although, the tutorial was simplistic; it doesn’t explain how tiles can be reset from the moment you step off the wrong one. The art style is decent with a french themed background.

The real problem with this game is not the Ads. However, they do try to get you to watch Ads to save yourself the boredom of waiting two minutes to try the level again. Now, that may sound okay to you, but I hate it when games force you to wait to try again. It’s a poor concept that has never been utilised correctly since it was introduced in the past.

Overall, it’s a simplistic isometric puzzler that promised no intrusive ads, but didn’t mention having to wait two minutes to play again!

Final Verdict: 2 Stars! 🌟🌟

Developer Response ,

Hi Rockyz/Luke, thanks for trying out our game.
I understand Spotlights are frustrating but that actually is the point coz i believe there isnt much fun in stealing stuff without anybody watching!
There are many free games out there where users are forced to watch ads whenever you start a level, finish a level, lose a level, win a level while all the time facing a banner ad somewhere at the top or bottom while playing the level.
I chose deliberately not to go via this route, so ads are served to you only based on your skill. As you said, the levels are fairly simple (although there are more variations in the puzzle elements in the regions ahead) so its possible for you to actually play through the entire game without watching a single ad if you don't get caught.
Having launched the game for free, i think its a fair bargain considering its the only source of revenue for us , which, keep in mind, you can totally avoid while being careful !
I hope you play the rest of the levels and are able to enjoy it as much as we did making it. Cheers
