Empowering veterans through evidence-based support, deep healing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Are you an Armed Forces veteran? Have you experienced PTSD and gambling harms? If so, ACTVet can help you by providing a 10-week support programme. The ACTVet App: -Is self-directed - Each user works through ACT individually. -Is manualised - The app has been created as a series of steps, designed to provide structure and flow. Each step has a theme which will be visually represented. -Is 10 weeks in total. -Contains data collection points, so that we can assess the effectiveness of the app. -Includes a financial incentive of a £150 voucher for the first 75 to complete the 10 weeks, including all data collection points. -Contains links to further support if needed. ACTVet has been developed at Swansea University which hosts the Gambling Research, Education and Treatment (GREAT) Network Wales and Centre for Military-related Gambling Research (MilGam). It has also been supported by King’s College London, Combat Stress, and the Veteran community. Through using ACTVet, you will help us understand the effectiveness of a smartphone-based digital intervention for veterans with PTSD and experiencing gambling harms.
