Age of Rivals was inspired by strategy boardgames and designed to be ideal for 1 or 2 players to play in 10 minutes with plenty of depth and replayability. It's the "anti-deckbuilding" CCG, where having only minimal control over your deck encourages endless variety in each game and puts the focus on in-the-moment tactical decision-making.
There are NO in-app purchases. All game content unlocks at a constant pace just by playing the game.

A true no pay to win title
This game is awesome. Simple concept but intricate strategy involved making for entertaining and challenging gameplay. Having now played against the AI and online I can say that the matchmaking is quality waiting no longer then 10 seconds for a game so far. Each game takes around 15 minutes which is quick enough to be able to have a quick game during lunch break or whatever.
What I like the most about this game is that there is no in game transactions, meaning that pay to win does not apply here. I had no hesitation what so ever paying the £3.99 for this amazing game and if they were to bring out expansion packs I would probably buy those as well. It’s been a while since I have enjoyed a phone game this much and I can see myself playing this for a long time.
Well worth the money if you enjoy strategy games. Support these devs for doing the right thing in shunning micro transactions. Will be keeping an eye out on any future releases from this company. I don’t often buy games but trust me, this is a bargain.
Fantastic strategy
Don’t be fooled by the simplistic looking graphics or the low price tag, this is an amazing game! It is a deck builder but plays as an 8 slot board game ‘war’. Over 4 rounds u build ur economy, buy ur deck n bolster ur town or walls or army or culture or more unscrupulous factions to your war effort. It’s perfectly balanced - beautifully executed and so simple, one can pick it up in 10 mins but spend days contemplating what cards to put in the ‘guaranteed’ slots for your heroes. It has a nice reward system as well as a campaign and online pvp options - I’m yet to try that as I have low data!! My other favourites are: ascension, hearth stone, mtg, hero realms and star realms so if u like any of those then this is well worth a look at. No pay wall at all.
Fantastic non f2p card game
If you love the idea of CCGs but hate the pricing model, this game is for you. One upfront cost gets you all content without any timers, gems, or other freemium BS. Very deep tactically, and the lack of deck construction (which I always find tedious anyway) means you have to be constantly adaptable inyour approach. Just wish there was some way to view which cards you’d already bought midgame!
