Underestimated
I bought this when it was released. But, I had so many synths on my iPad, I just didn’t give it a proper look.
A few months ago, I dramatically stripped-back the number of music production apps I had on my iPad to focus more on quality rather than quantity. I deleted hundreds of apps, and kept about 50 ‘essentials’.
More recently, I’ve been looking for something that can give me some huge, punchy stabs for some old school hardcore tracks I’ve been wrestling with. I thought I could purchase a couple of sample packs from Loopmasters. Nothing quite did it for me, though; and the inability to tweak the sounds to my taste became frustrating.
Whilst browsing through some apps in my ‘purchased’ list, I saw Agonizer and thought “why not”.
After giving Agonizer some proper time and attention, I now realise that it is exactly what I want. I didn’t realise just how good it was first time round, but I do now.

I quite literally bought this app immediately, and then watched the video of what I had paid for while it downloaded.
No regrets.. sounds amazing. Top class. Wubtastic.
More versatile than you might expect...
While it performs its main duties admirably, it’s more than a one trick pony. Longer held notes modulated can become quite atmospheric and even ethereal, I’m going to focus on this more now....
