Used to be good but premium features are now on a subscription model and I was a paid up premium user!

Constant full-screen pop up messages bugging for my subscription every time I open the app after an update.

Unable to accept ANY calendar invitations via email now.

****** UPDATE: iOS now saying the App is insecure - closing the app down as soon as it starts up!! ******

Disgraceful developer.

WARNING: Developer keeps resetting reviews. Last I checked it was 1.2 stars! Make sure you keep your reviews updated every time the app is updated.

Always wanted to love this email app

This to me is the best email application that never was. It is very buggy [don’t take my word for it... this is mentioned all over the web]. Incredible amount of functionality, but just keeps crashing. The search facility on this and the MacOS version are frighteningly poor. I kept losing emails all the time and have kept asking senders to resend the same emails. Imagine my surprise when the developers changed to a subscription model... those who paid a one time fee are now being asked to subscribe to have the iOS version? Why? One time fee should be just that right? Oh well... it was never expensive and a little under £10 a year is not the end of the world right? But the app is still haunted by some fundamental issues, something we should expect is not laden with severe bugs. It is a shame... there is nothing out there [that I know of] with the same level of functionality but I have finally give up and jumped ship back to Spark. The functionality of Spark is nowhere near as comprehensive, but it is much easier to use, stable and it’s search is blisteringly quick and accurate. Main features for me is ability to Snooze emails and be able to search, other features I can live without... So I guess getting them without the cost of a subscription service will cheer me up today.

Excellent customer support, feature-rich app but very buggy

Customer support has been great. Which is important, because the iOS apps--both iPhone and iPad--are exceptionally buggy. Constant hangs, lost email, archived emails that suddenly become unarchived, config settings that work on some accounts, not others...and a whole host of other mysterious issues.

The app is very ambitious, and power users will love it. However, the Airmail team haven't learned the most important of Apple's lessons about software engineering: simple apps, with fewer features, are easier to debug and document, and provide for interfaces that are easier to navigate and understand. There are lots of ways that things go wrong in this app and virtually no documentation that might shed some light on what's going wrong.

Of course, some of those features that Mail doesn't have are awesome. And everyone wants a different feature. But the trade-off is that to support all of those features, you need to test all of them together, in all of their various combinations. It's a combinatorial problem. And Airmail have ducked that obligation so far. The proof is in the pudding.
