Great app, does what it says
This app is a fab podcast player without the usual clutter. I’m coming from the now defunct Castro podcast app and this is the closest thing to replicating the Castro inbox/queue system.
Only one quibble with airshow though: if I add an episode to my queue, it turns blue in the episodes list. This is great so I can tell what I’ve already added to the queue. BUT; once I’ve listened to the episode and it gets auto deleted, there is no way to tell from the episodes list that I’ve listened to it already. With a lot of podcasts subscribed meaning ten-15 episodes per day to choose from it’s impossible to remember what I’ve already heard.
I beg of the developer, please add some sort of indication to an episode that has been played. Perhaps a blue bar when it’s in the queue and a grey bar when it’s been played (and then deleted).
Or, even more stunning, a toggle to *hide* episodes that have been queued! Then the only episodes that show up in the new episodes list are genuinely new ones or those that I’ve chosen not to listen too.
This would make the triaging of new content so powerful (I don’t listen to every episode of every podcast I’m subscribed to).
In conclusion; it’s great! So close to being the greatest!
Simple and clean
Airshow’s simplicity is a delight. I’ve moved from Castro after having sync issues, and Airshow has been a fine replacement that seems to be getting better with time. The way the queue and chapters are handled is especially slick! The integration with Feedbin is nice, too, although I wish there were an easy way to view episodes that aren’t in the queue on the Feedbin web interface! Other than that, my only real wish is for played episodes to be marked in the library. Oh, and I’ve spotted that some podcasts such as the excellent Podcastle audio fiction magazine seem to not display their artwork once added from the directory – but the podcast still plays back okay!
Good Podcast player
There doesn't appear to be a way of having the number of podcasts queued up displayed as an icon badge?
