Description
Altilium is designed to calculate energy outputs from various thresholds so that hard-working cardiac physiologists can easily improve battery longevity of cardiac devices.
It is the perfect app for those interested in the most energy efficient outputs for cardiac devices.
Once you have entered your thresholds and preferred safety margin, Altilium will calculate the energy outputs and highlight the most efficient option.
- Inputs and results can be exported via PDF
- Thresholds can be labelled with customisable tags (e.g. myocardial, non-selective and selective), allowing for charting of multiple lines
- Minimum outputs can be enforced through the comprehensive settings
- Helpful warnings if your programmed output is greater than the battery voltage

Promising app with some surprising results
I haven’t used this in clinic yet but I’ve had a play around with some hypothetical numbers and found in one case that it was preferable to programme 3.5V@0.8ms over 3V@1ms which I wouldn’t most probably wouldn’t have done in practice. I’m interested to see what the future holds for this app!
