Good trip staying in a lodge with 4 kids

The staff are always really helpful and friendly. Only slight problem was when trying to find our lodge…after searching for half an hour I went back to reception and said that it seems like the map out front is upside down…to which they replied that it is upside down. I really liked the lodge. They look amazing, they’re clean and comfortable. Shame there isn’t a room with some music on for the kids in the evening ‘in the restaurant building- but was told we could go over to the hotels for entertainment.
The food in the wider park isn’t to my taste (it’s all chips/cheese and sausages). Ended up getting a jacket potatoe with beans (from cebeebiesland cafe) both days. It was quite nice but if we’d have stayed more than two days it wouldn’t have been.
The breakfast in the crooked spoon restaurant was fine. They don’t have vegi sausages which is usually found in buffets but I didn’t miss my lonely sausage, as the hash browns and eggs were nice and they have nice bread.
Even though I’ve moaned, they’re only minor things- I can’t fault the trip really

A good app for a good place

Last year, after getting Merlin passes, I wouldn’t stop going Alton towers. I was there every weekend. Alton towers is my favourite place to be and this app is very hand for going there.
There is so many rides to go on and it is very handy to know which one is open or not. Normally I stick to the same patten but sometimes I use this to help me get on more rides in one day.
Even if it’s the close season, I still look at it. The next time I get to go is for my birthday ,which is at the end of March. It feels like a long way away but the app helps me plan which rides I can go on with a map helping me as well.
Really can’t wait for 2020 season to start and for the new land to open. Theme parks are the only thing I look forward to.
However, the times are not always correct but I’m not that bothered.

Useful but inaccurate

The app was very useful for queue times around the park when me and my family visited the park. Some queue times were accurate which ensured that we planned our day better to fit as many rides as we could in. However other queue times were very inaccurate which messed up my family’s timings. We went on the day when the fireworks were on and as they started at 7pm and it was only 5pm we decided to queue for Nemesis which according to the app had a wait to time of 45 minutes. We were in the queue for about 90 minutes and were hardly half way through. We decided to leave the queue in the end because we would have otherwise missed the fireworks which is why we came to the park. Luckily we go to Alton Towers regularly so it wasn’t a big issue but if it was your first time then it would be frustrating. We ended up loving the fireworks which were amazing to watch but it was a shame about the queue times calamity. Overall the app has a lot better f potential and could be great if the queue times were accurate.
