Aosta Digitale è una app che si compone di due strumenti principali: un Videogame con giochi ed enigmi da risolvere durante un suggestivo viaggio nel tempo volto alla scoperta - “da remoto” - del patrimonio culturale di Aosta, e una Mappa Interattiva, bussola e “lente di ingrandimento” che permettono di esplorare la città seguendo affascinanti e pratici itinerari tematici.
La trama del Videogame si ispira alla storia del viaggiatore romantico inglese William Brockedon che, tra il 1821 e il 1839, soggiornò più volte in Italia e in Valle d’Aosta, come riporta il suo taccuino di viaggio dal titolo “Illustrations of the Passes of the Alps”. Proprio da questo manoscritto e da accertate vicende della sua vita trae ispirazione la narrazione del videogioco.
Brockedon, oltre a essere pittore e scrittore, fu inventore nel solco di una forte tradizione orologiaia ereditata dal padre; nel gioco, le sue spiccate doti inventive, applicate alla precisa e affascinante arte appresa attraverso gli insegnamenti paterni, gli consentono di progettare e costruire un particolarissimo orologio, dotato di un delicato ingranaggio che permette di viaggiare nel tempo superando le barriere spazio-temporali. Accade, però, che la violenta alluvione del 1846 causa la perdita del taccuino e la rottura dell’ingranaggio, lasciando il personaggio “imprigionato” nella nostra epoca. Il viaggiatore contemporaneo, attraverso la risoluzione di giochi ed enigmi, dovrà aiutare Brockedon a ricostruire l’ingranaggio e a ritrovare i fogli del taccuino dispersi, permettendogli, così, di ritornare nel proprio tempo.
Il giocatore, oppure un appassionato viaggiatore che vorrà inoltrarsi nella scoperta di Aosta raggiungendo fisicamente la città, sarà supportato dalla Mappa Interattiva nella visita ai siti di principale interesse, muovendosi lungo itinerari tematici o personalizzati che ripercorrono i luoghi culturalmente più rilevanti. La Realtà Aumentata, attivabile sia trovandosi ad Aosta, sia utilizzando l’app in un qualsiasi altro luogo, renderà suggestiva la visita del Criptoportico, del Teatro Romano e della Chiesa di San Lorenzo. Unicamente per i visitatori che fisicamente andranno ad Aosta, infine, è disponibile una esclusiva esperienza di Realtà Virtuale: l’utente sarà proiettato in un emozionante viaggio nell’area megalitica di Saint-Martin-de-Corléans, in cui potrà vivere, in modalità totalmente immersiva, azioni rituali e momenti di vita vissuta in ambientazioni preistoriche attentamente ricostruite.
