Appetite: Restaurant Tracking
Ratings & Reviews
The apps great and I love the forum and map. However I would also be interested in having a filter on the map for places I didn’t like. Also generally the map doesn’t show many restaurants unless you zoom in all the way and even then there seems to be a limit which can be frustrating. The home page could also do with a refresh so I can see recommendations and pre-made lists easier!
I’m in London and searched for Mexican restaurants- 2 results, then searched for tacos- no results (this search was for London as a whole, not just my area). I was give an ad for this mentioning free items you could get from restaurants- I found a limited list, most were drinks or with purchase of items I would not order myself. Don’t lead with free items if it is a minor portion of the app! And I would redownload in the future if this became usable for search, but if I the first thing I do when I download the app is label myself as a “Taco Titan” and then I can’t discover any taco restaurants I’m not sure if you’re ready for public launch on a level of selling ads that reach me- more like you’re still in beta. Will be deleting now.
Developer ResponseHey Cecie,Sorry you didn't have a good experience - but thank you for raising it. We've now pushed a fix. So if you head to Explore and put in Tacos & London, you should be able to see more results!
i love the app aesthetic but i’d love for more places to be added and pop up on the app. the only down thing on the app is that nobody uses it (which is really sad because it’s an amazing app) it would be nice to connect with people and see where they’ve been and what they rate it. also i’d like an option to top your profile picture when you add it.
I came across appetite a few weeks ago, and I was a bit skeptical at first as I’ve tried a few different food discovery apps. However appetite is completely different, it’s so easy to import lists from notes and google and then filter them out based on availability, cuisine and vibe!! I’ve also followed a few people and have got some great quality recs, can’t wait to taste Miga (found it on appetite)
The app feels a bit unsure what it’s actually for. Bookings? Reviews? Deals? The UI feels busy, but doesn’t actually give away a lot. The “On Everyone’s Lips” list is populated with old and new eateries, with badges in lots of different colours, which might tell you if the place is “Instagrammable”, bright or—actually usufully—dog friendly, but these don’t appear to be filterable, nor does it say in the list where the restaurant is, which you’ll have to enter map mode or click and scroll down twice on each individual restaurant to find out.
The layout of the app is beautiful and it’s a really innovative idea that should of been around sooner! Definitely will be trying it out and love the prompts too. I’m more of a looker than someone who would actively use it like a social media as I’m no food critic but I’m having trouble viewing what people post even with full bars. Things load slowly and I’m usually only able to see the first image
