  • UPDATED Useless in Harrogate and probably Dundee now

    UPDATED MAY 2024 - and now it doesnt even open the multistory car park barriers i and others have reverted to pay as park - hopefully now we have a decent mayor for NYC he'll listen to representations***UPDATED FEB 2024 - despite "working hard to fix sensors" it is just the same no one in their right mind is using it here and all are looking forward to NYC waking up and either getting it sorted or switching to Ringo **** This used to be good - but rather than scanning and leaving automatically, you have to enter the time you want AND the exact location otherwise if you park just a few yards away in a different street you will get a ticket even if the charge is the same - as has happened to several people ( admittedly sucessfully appealed to council but not for long). I know just pay for the time I want by card. Representations are being made by users and businesses to the NYCouncil to get this sorted and move to Ringo as is commonly used around the Leeds area I would think the same would be the case for Dundee

  • A revolutionary app turned to dust.

    The old app was fantastic, even for Londoners, finding us live spaces instead of having to drive around. On this “plus” revision it’s so buggy, doesn’t show actual available spaces and anything it does show is unavailable in real life. FYI I tried the premium membership and there is no difference, whereas I would have gladly paid for the old version if it was brought back. On top of that you can’t use google maps or car maps but have to use their terrible in-app navigation instead. It’s like a multi-million pound revolutionary app has been turned into dust. What were they thinking? I also don’t believe the developers are car drivers, no way a car driver in London would do something like this.

    We're pleased to let you know we have now added a Street view link in app! Just update to the latest app version and click on the bay you wish to view, this will link you directly to the bay on Street view.

  • Unreliable

    I have used this for several years in Harrogate, since just after it started. I have had several problems. Today’s problem was a parking fine of £50 half way through my session. My extension of the session mustn’t have been ‘live’ and was clearly not visible to the Civil Enforcement Officer at the time. My receipt from Appy shows the full time plus the extension time.I contacted Support who replied with some advice and the disclaimer ‘Ultimately the council have discretion whether to apply the fine or not’!!! Before I could reply, Support’s email disappeared from my inbox and deleted box. Was it withdrawn? This is the most recent of several problems with the system.Rating zero *

    Thank you for your comments, we understand your frustration with the situation however according to our system, You selected a different street than the one your vehicle was parked on, this meant the parking attendant was unable to validate your session, and as a result, why the PCN was issued. Please note the issuance and appeals for PCNs are at the full discretion of the council. If you wish to discuss this further please contact us at support@appyway.com

  • Ridiculous, why show you can park where you can’t?

    I would suggest to put “Do not park unless you have a resident permit” on the parking slots that are marked on the map with a green tick and say “Free To Park on the resident permit parking slots on the street. It gives a misleading message and led to me receiving a fine of £65 for parking there for 20 minutes. I relied on AppyParking for quite some time, but this time it has really let me down. What is the point of the premium access if it doesn’t give precise information and ensure I am definitely parked correctly to avoid the fine.I hope these improvements can be made, however I am extremely disappointed and frankly sad about this incident.

  • Direction not Calibrated

    This is very useful idea and there aren’t any suitable alternatives to this out there, as far as I know. The user interface is clean and easy to navigate. But it’s a shame that the direction of the location dot isn’t properly calibrated, which makes it awfully confusing when trying to find a parking spot in traffic. I’ve uninstalled the app, but the location dot always faces in an opposite direction. This makes the app unreliable. I would happily pay for the premium version if it wasn’t for this issue.

    Thank you very much for your review, we're glad you find the app easy to use! In terms of the location navigation, this tends to be a device issue. Please open the compass app on your iPhone and follow the instructions to calibrate your compass.   • Total failure

    Hated the previous version user interface, but forced to use it for Harrogate. New version has a terrible starting point in that accidentally hit login with Apple instead of Google (buttons are next to each other) and from then on the App forcibly wants you to login and accept the T&C (which are a mile long and commit you to payment) without a cancel button. Deletion and reinstall doesn’t resolve the issue. I’m surprised this made it into the App Store. Very poor understanding of good user interface design. Have deleted and will return to paying in cash in the rare times I visit Harrogate and will think twice about visiting at all.
