Today Around 5 am I booked an taxi. I came out from work from a night shift waiting in the cold and rain for my taxi... my taxi woudn t arrive .. my eyes went long like an snail looking around to see my taxi :)) I called the operator and told me to wait as I am in the queue.. is bad weather everybody booked a taxi. I remind the operator that I booked the taxi few hours before. Also I m a regular costumer and spend lots of money for taxi. Told him that I am waiting in the cold rain , I am pregnant , I m having a flu and I am after a night shift..... He told me to wait 20 min. Ok I wait I wait.. I went to take the bus, I saw the buses were coming going , but my taxi never. I arrived home after an hour traveling. When I entered in my house the taxi driver was calling me :))) upps I forgot to cancel the taxi. The good part is that the bus was cheaper only 2.30 £... and faster !
What you need to know before using this!
FIRSTLY, If you’re booking a cab during busy times it will often tell you ‘5-6 mins’- this is untrue, it appears to be done purposely to convince you to book through them instead of a competitor, this is confirmed by calling up and speaking to their operators and being told ‘it’s never correct, busy times are usually 20-30 minutes wait at least’. I’ve personally waited for an hour before and there’s a reason why in next point.... The drivers do not like the app where the payment is selected as ‘card payment’ through the app, this has been confirmed with numerous drivers I’ve spoken to throughout the year, I’m told the management of Aqua sit on all the money from card transactions to ‘earn interest’ and the drivers have to “wait 2 weeks to get paid on card jobs”, so they don’t want it, here’s the kicker though because some will take your job then cancel it but it means the driver cannot pick up another job for a period of time SO what they now do is pick up the job and not move from where they are, you’re watching the tracking and car is stationary for 5-10 minutes forcing you to cancel the job and rebook which means the driver isn’t penalised and you’re late for where ever you need to be... drivers and staff are actually polite and nice and always helpful, the unfair ethics of the management and how they have set this app up is terrible and it’s the customer that loses out.
Cannot calculate fare correctly
last Thursday I booked a 6 seater in order to travel to my Christmas due in Chichester on Saturday the 1st of December at 20:10 and I got a confirmation that the taxi was booked and it would cost me £30.
On Saturday at 20:05 in my tracker I saw that the taxi was cancelled. I immediately call the operator and he told me that the app calculated the fare incorrectly and that was why it was cancelled. Upon telling the operator that it was not my fault he told me that I had to pay £60 in I wanted a taxi, otherwise, it would take about 30-60 minutes to try to sort out my problem and I ended up having to pay the £60 in order to not lose my booking at the restaurant.
if your app cannot calculate the correct fare, it should not be alive as that is one of the most important features!!
