A Life-Changing Experience

I stumbled upon this app while searching for the Best Picture winner at the 85th Academy Awards, being a huge fan of Ben Affleck, actors who branch out into directing, and historical dramas like Zero Dark Thirty & Bridge of Spies. I wasn’t the biggest fan of The Way Back but I think that’s mainly because there will never be a better cinematic portrayal of alcoholism than Denzel Washington in Flight, in my opinion of course. It did however redeem in my eyes after the calamitous journey of Batfleck, roll on R-Batz I declare! Previously my idea of a short film would be something like Mallrats, which careers along at a zippy 90 minutes in its theatrical cut but there are films on here which are only three minutes long! Incredible stuff, my only criticism is the Afflack, which is of course how I refer to any project which doesn’t involve the broody muscle-man himself.

Innovative concept

Was recommended to use Argo through a friend. Glad I was as I have been introduced to a plethora of niche short films that are easily accessible. Myself being interested in the acting industry and humanistic psychology it’s great to see these films showcase the more obscure aspects of human behavior. Such as that of the short film titled “detainment”, which i found a disturbingly accurate portrayal of the true story. I think it will be great when this app introduces personal profiles where movies can be shared, commented on and saved to a wishlist. Would recommend this app to any students or individuals interested in the indie film scene.

Over the moon about this app.

I don’t usually write reviews however this has been a complete game changer to how I watch film. During the pandemic there have been no showings open for cinema but also the more interesting and fun short films that are usually playing in South London Café’s. However using this app I can choose what I want to watch and even the films I wouldn’t usually go for were so eye opening and shone on new perspectives! Love love love this. So happy I found it. Great work Argo. This should be in schools!!!
