Incredibly powerful functions that have become integral to my workflow. The apps integration with my iOS and the web based service make working in teams so convenient! I often send a link to blank project while I populate projects. As for keeping myself organised, invaluable. From my daily to-do lists, weekly tasks, Month end goals and yearly goals are all in their projects. The flexibility of the app helps me structure any project in a way I can follow and understand, share, keeps a central location for all projects and allows me to plan prospective projects and leave the notes for the future.
Beware of you ever want to leave Asana

We signed up to a brief trial of Asana but decided it wasn't for us compared to an alternative option we found. We therefore decided to close our account. First, we couldn't find a way to do that ourselves in settings so contacted customer service. We requested they close our account and delete all data held. We got a reply saying we had time left on our free trial and they ignored the deletion request. We again requested they close and delete our account data. We then got an email asking for written confirmation from all users along with confirmation we were in the UK (and subject to protection from GPDR). We replied and have just received the following that states: "Taking into account the complexity of the process, your request will be carried out over the course of the next three months in accordance with the permitted timelines set out in Article 12(3) of the GDPR beginning on the day you have written to confirm that we can deactivate your account."So we try our a service briefly and they make it as difficult and long winded as they can when we simply ask them, as is our legal right, to remove the data they hold? If this doesn't concern potential users of their service then I don't know what will. Avoid this company and their awful data privacy practices.
Love Asana but still moving away ...

It really depends what functions you need in an app like this and for me it’s out of the box task time tracking. I’ve tried all the third party add-ons and for one reason or another they were a pain in the ... sanity. You have to create additional account, then some weren’t available in App or directly visible on tasks in Asana and you have to review the data externally (which is ridiculous tbh), etc etc etc.For this reason I’m moving my task management to Bitrix24 whose mobile app is nothing compared to Asana when it comes to UX, but that’s right there how much I need a built in time tracking. Should the developers ever decide to add it I’ll come back in a whim, because using Asana is a breeze, but for now unfortunately it’s Sayonara :(
Calendar all tasks? Widget by date.

They have updated so that you can see the calendar view on each project but this is useless to me, I use this as a management tool so I need to be able to take in an overview of different projects at once. The ios widget is also really frustrating as you only see projects that Asana has decided to tag as “today” instead of things that are actually to be done chronologically today and the only way to fix it is manually which is an extra burden on my time and inclines me to use an automated Zapier google cal integration instead. This app is useful (when online) to add tasks or see a list of tasks due but isn't great for being able to focus clearly on what needs to be done today.
Some updates make a big entrance. Others quietly hand you exactly what you need, right when you need it. This one’s a bit of both.
First up: projects notes on mobile. Now you can read them, write them, and keep all that important context right where your work is—no juggling required.
And for our time trackers, we’ve added a little more precision to your hours. If you’re using the Timesheets and Budgets add-on, you can choose a timesheet project when adding an entry. You can also write a description and mark entries as billable or non-billable. Clearer records, smoother tracking, fewer “wait, what was this for again?” moments.
As always, we’ve also taken care of a few bugs and made some general improvements along the way.
