  • Watch out for subs!

    popboombang

Im happy enough to keep using Asda online for my shop however this happened… In my order was x2 6pint whole milk Asda brand. I was substituted with 3litres of cravendale. Ultimately I have paid the same price for half the milk I originally ordered. The lady on customer services was nice enough but I really couldn’t understand the accent as she was from another country. As curiosity kicked in I ventured down to the local Asda with a friend and noticed that the items that were substituted were actually on the shelf in Asda. We are in a living crisis and Asda think it’s acceptable to take advantage of substitutions. They will give you less for the same price you paid. It’s a way to claw and rake in more money from those that don’t take a stand against it. Im just one person that has lost no greater than £2. A small amount it may seem. But this happens to thousands of people. That £2 x 1000 is £2000 given to a company for literally nothing!! Please take this review as guidance as to your online shopping experience. Please don’t assume that Asda or any online retailer will happily help you off their own back. THEY WONT! Be vigilant AND MAKE A STAND!

  • Can’t do without

I’ve been using online shopping with Asda for over a year now and have found this a life saver. I had an operation which meant I couldn’t walk for 3 months let alone shop! The app on the phone and website both worked well. Then Covid decided to rear it’s very ugly head and everyone went mental trying to get online and do the same it became very challenging. The website often crashed mid shop or whilst amending. It was very trying! Slots became impossible toGet unless you booked weeks in advance. Then Asda became aware everyone was doing this to avoid missing a slot. I believe they then stepped up sorted the website out and ordering and it became functional again. I have stuck with it and give them the benefit of the doubt and I have to say I am impressed with their ability to not only fix the outages but also their organising of stock availability during the nightmare of people bulk buying. I have to say I still shop with Asda every week and although sometimes items aren’t available (as the same in any other Supermarket) most of the time they get it spot on. The drivers are extremely helpful and always on time. I love online deliveries for the bulk of my shopping which means if I have to go out, it’s only for a small amount of items and not very often. Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen of Asda for all your hard work and dedication.

  • App a has a few bugs but not as bad as the staff doing the packing!

The app can be really temperamental, it often gets stuck and has to be shut down and restarted started after it spends 10 minutes just trying to load one product. Not really the apps fault but ASDA clearly don’t put all products they have available on the app, for example cauliflower rice, the frozen steam bags are always available in the stores in my area but it is never actually available online, even though I have been sent it as a substitute to the normal rice bags? It’s rather annoying to not be able to order it when I know perfectly well that they will have plenty when I go into store. although you pay 40p for bags you don’t get them, half to most of the shopping turns up not in bags soo yeah thanks for that. also staff hardly every get the idea of cross contamination and you end up with salad vegetables such as cress in the same bag as fresh meat and fish, the irony of the fact they only use a bag to allow cross contamination and potentially poison you is not lost on me! I’ve complained re cross contamination multiple times and they clearly don’t care, as they continue to do it, what’s worrying if they don’t understand that basic and simple food handling concept, aka don’t put a bag of raw salmon in with an open box of salad cress and strawberry’s, what other food handling practices or they incapable of grasping?

  • It gets progressively worse each week

Amongst tonight’s unsuccessful shopping... apparently the huge 24 hour store I use had no lurpack butter, no toad in the hole and no ice cream. No problem, because I know the store has the butter and meals, but somehow the app and the store don’t work together so I’ll just pick them up when I go to collect my groceries (which defeated the process really). It seems to tell me very slowly in a screen freezing way when an item is out of stock, but it does one item at a time and only tells me another item is out of stock when I go to check out again after going back into the store to pick an alternative. Freezing screens seem to be constant these days, I find it’s not so much freezing but not allowing me to select an item, so you have to change to a different page then return to the store and it lets you select that item, but only one item because it then freezes selecting items straight after. Anyway, eventually I select the time I’m picking up my shopping and yet, whole app shuts down. I try again, this time getting through to payment, the third time I got to chose my card payment, the fourth time I managed it. It’s like a sadistic game, with each week an increasingly frustrating shopping experience all the while being reminded to ‘save money, live better’. Nope I’m not sure I’m doing either. It’s supposed to make my life easier, but I’m slowly losing the will to live..

  • An ASDA Convert Very Impressed

Having ordered online for years with other supermarkets, i will freely admit that I tried Asda as a last resort when my go to’s didn’t have availability to either deliver or collect and when I did manage to arrange a collection, the collection point was deserted, no one thought to let me know it had been changed. What a pleasant surprise I got with Asda. I can get delivery slots the very next day most times which I can’t at others and the grocery shop is the easiest search and quickest to load compared to all others I’ve tried. The link to the Reward scheme is straight forward and not complicated like some other supermarkets, so I can earn rewards easily and use them easily. The drivers are polite and helpful and the goods are so far all delivered on time well placed in crates, the crates are actually clean, unlike other supermarkets, and the items are not thrown in from a distance, and the prices are extremely competitive. I wish I had used Asda before instead of putting up with poor customer care from others. I am converted and just placing my next order now.

  • So much easier (& cheaper)then shopping

I broke my arm in 2016 and had to start online shopping earnestly as I couldn’t drive. It was such a revelation. Now I plonk in my favourites every week, alter the order the night before delivery to reflect what is actually in the fridge, get up next morning and hey presto my shopping arrives. I can’t understand why anyone would want to go to the supermarket ever again. I am a long way from a store, so have the delivery pass which costs the same as one journey to the store and I get weekly deliveries , so I’m saving 75% on shopping trip costs and about 6 hours of my life every month. Yes I get some substitutes which are weird, or once it was all very wet 😳, but on the whole it’s a fantastic service, the drivers are lovely and I’m extremely happy. I have really appreciated the way Asda have kept the service going despite all the trials of lockdowns and brexit, even if it means I can’t get yellow peppers this week, or ginger last week, these are minor issues compared with the reality that for a very small sum somebody is bringing me food for a week and I don’t have to fetch it. Thank you Asda. 😁😁

  • Asda App!!! 🤔

    FEH70

Well it was better this week, than most weeks, it only crashed once!! I’m still not understanding why a lot, and I mean a lot, of everyday items which are ready available in store, still aren’t available online or the App. It’s so obvious people are starting to panic buy again because they fear going into lockdown, (and I live in the south not the north of England). Please explain why when I try to order Asda own toilet rolls, they don’t show 24 packs anymore, only a 12 or 4 pack, which is big difference in price? But they are probably stacked sky high in the store!!! Last week I wanted a 12 pack of Asda baby wet wipes, they were not even showing as available, or out of stock, so had to order the nearest equivalent which was Huggies which were 75p more per pack. When my delivery arrived they were substituted with, guess what!, Asda wet wipes, they actual ones I wanted in the first place!!!!!I’ve shopped online many years with Asda now but the online shopping takes a lot longer now than it used to, due to crashes and numerous stops and stalls. Would be nice if that could be dealt with.

  • Horrendous

So I placed 3 orders, money from each one was taken from my bank account but the orders weren’t actually created. So I had to wait 2 weeks for each payment to bounce back in, leaving me without money or food. Birth the bank and Asda refused to help. I struggle to leave the house which I explained to customer service and is why I order online but they didn’t help. They sent a £10 voucher (£270+ from my bank was taken though so made no difference) and made it online so I couldn’t actually use it. I took it to the store and was told I couldn’t use it once I was at the cash register which was embarrassing. It’s such a shame because I’ve always used this app and shopped online with this company and this whole experience tainted them enough for me to keep away from them, even just from the lack of emotion or empathy on their part. I sent countless emails and rang up over and over to be ignored and told the same thing “we’ll open a case”. I’m still waiting for a response months later. I know you guys don’t care about loosing a customer because you have so many. But this experience has well and truly knocked my trust with them. Order online at your own risk lol and good luck. Maybe it was a one off but yeah such a shame. Your customer service is disastrous and they need retraining.

  • Good app

    juals

It’s a good app but the delivery or collection is wrong way round. I’ve had to cancel my order and do it again because it said collection date. So please get that sorted. I was also supposed to have been given a £5 voucher because of an angel delight pot having mould in it. But it’s not there so wasn’t happy about that. Otherwise it’s easy to shop with the app. Update:- I was sitting here waiting for my order as half an hour late and no messages from them. Rang them and after ages they answered. It was for click and collect he said. On my order it said delivery. I always have a delivery now I have no help as being disabled is hard to do. So had to cancel that one and I’ve had to reorder. This isn’t the first time I usually check but didn’t this time. I’ve had my voucher at last. But I’m getting really annoyed at the mishaps that are happening. I love bananas but dare not order them as the last 2 ordered were black. Didn’t complain about them but the pudding was the last straw. Person on the phone was saying my fault. He still has t cancelled it. Why they couldn’t deliver it to me I don’t know? Not happy.

  • Love online shopping as I’m shielding

    Ziggy2234

App won’t behave and freezes half the time. If I amend my shopping why do I need to add again my card details every time? I’m gluten and dairy free and when I search for an item I can’t click on the item unless it’s in my basket to see what the ingredients are. It’s never done this before. Some drivers wear masks others don’t. Some drivers leave my shopping downstairs and it’s I just one flight of stairs for us to get but we have a lift. It’s stated on my notes. You have a lot of gluten free frozen/fresh food I can’t seem to buy online but if I go into the store it’s there. Odd items are replaced that are no way similar to the ones I’ve ordered but it’s getting better slowly. I have to always double check my order as some items go missing or have to ask for a refund as items aren’t up to scratch ie vegetables or meat. Beef is horrendous and chewy even roast beef. Even steaks and fillet beef. Once I got a lovely piece of beef but thereafter rubbish. Butchers choice meat hit and miss and the chicken is full of water. Best to buy meat that’s not 3 for 10 as the meat is poor or had too much fat. I’ve been with Asda for a few years now and prices are great but quality can let Asda down.
