Assistive Apps presents Assistive Express, an affordable Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) Device, catered to people with difficulty in speech. The biggest challenge for such users when using AAC devices is the number of key strokes or hits required to construct any sentences, which can take up a significant amount of time to have a decent conversation with anyone. To overcome this challenge, Assistive Express is designed to be simple and efficient, allowing users to express their views and thoughts at the most express manner, with natural sounding voices.

Assistive chat

The update looks more professional but predictive buttons move and are less responsive than in the earlier version.

Good app

This is a good app for those with difficulty in speaking.
Its a very similar in functionality to software I have started writing myself, although if this apps delivers what I need then I'll probably cancel mine (I was writing it to support a relative rather than commercial reasons).

Heres what Id really like to see...

Please include a version with Acapella's Rachel (British) voice, or some way to use their in-app purchase for new voices.
When the text area is cleared and the app is quit, restarting the app then fills the textarea with the last sentence spoken. This is a bit annoying and should really start with a blank canvas if it was cleared prior to quitting. Alternatively just add an option to always start with a clear textbox whenever the app is started

Other than that, it shows great promise, and the simple shortcut buttons are what makes this app better than various other apps using the same speech engine

Great App

Love this app. Using it to support children's writing - copy and paste into Pages once finished. Excellent word prediction and lovely big buttons. Good as a text to speech app for my students with no speech.
