Audio Record - Audio Recorder 4+

Does what it says on the tin. Records audio in various formats from a variety of sources. A useful app. The level monitoring could be better however, as the waveform display does not easily show peak distortion. I would prefer a green audio level bar meter with yellow and red warning areas, and a flashing record button, and forget about the waveform display, which isn’t very useful. Its possible to record peak distorted sound without knowing about it. And think you are recording when you are not because the waveform display is always active. But nonetheless v useful app,

I’ve used this a number of times to record audio from various sources and it has worked very well. Recently I wanted to created a ringtone from electronic music I recorded and this app exported the audio files in the correct format .m4r without trouble. Nice app.

Based on some good Apple Store reviews, I bought this to try to copy some music from my old collection of cassettes. I found it difficult to use so it took a long time to useful copies, not least because the visual feedback did not really indicate whether the transfer was going well or not. My son then advised me to use Audacity. This does everything I want for free, and blows this app out of the water. I tried to get my money back from Apple Store, but was refused. Don't waste your money too.
