My everyday app
My audible app isn’t purchase supported ,I think it is how I have it set up so I don’t mind . It makes me stop and think and make better choices . However if I don’t like a book I can return it and swap for another or get credited . I buy extras on the deals . There are some great books in there so don’t think it just the rotten ones . I go quickly to sign in on google or safari and it takes me 2seconds . I normally choose my next book from my which list . Now this I can do on my app too . I flip back to the app and go to my library and hit refresh when you have WiFi . And I’m good to go ! Once all downloaded you can listen anywhere . There are some superb narrators and there are some you might not gel with . Give it time and adjust the speed as that makes a huge difference I find . Great app . I use it this way but you may use it differently good luck happy listening .
Great listening and value
I’m a new member who’s just coming towards the end of my first audiobook but want to share how much I’m enjoying the app. I like podcasts and listening to people’s experiences anyway so when I heard about the app and free trial I thought I’d give it a try to see if it would suit me. I chose James Corden’s autobiography ‘May I have your attention please’ and it’s a great choice. As well as being brought to tears with laughter at his tales, there’s poignant and moving stories too. It’s cool that it’s James reading to you as well. I’m planning on sticking with autobiographies for a while, but I’ll probably try novels at some point. Audiobooks are fantastic for long car journeys or gardening, so if you’re on the fence give it a go. They make you look forward to somewhat boring tasks. I’m certainly glad that I did!
Brilliant. So simple to use. Great choice of books
Recently joined audiobooks and chose Stephen Fry’s autobiography, the third, I think, ‘More Fool Me’. Listening to audiobook is great experience and alternative to actually reading, so both are great in the right situation, and you can have lots of books in your smartphone or tablet rather than pushing your books around in a barrow.
More Fool Me is very Stephen Fry, and in a good way, though he does rabbit on quite a bit at the beginning, about the previous autobiographies. He really opens up though about a wide variety of experiences and that includes a surprising, to me at least, amount of drugs excess. It’s all very reflective and amusing, in a smiley, chuckle-along, Stephen Fry’ish way. Overall, a great read. I’m heading towards Fry’s ‘Victorian Secrets’ next.
