Ratings and Reviews
I’m a book kinda girl. An actual book, iv read many books via kindles but I always find myself going back to a real book that I can hold in my hands. I’m single mum to two children, one who is 8 years old the other who is 3 years old so I’m always on the go. Apart from evenings, I don’t get much time to just sit and read a book. I assumed, that audible wouldnt be for me, I thought it would be similar to using a kindle, my problem was that I enjoyed holding an actual book so I just assumed audible would never be for me. Then I saw a friend who was actually listening to an audible book whilst she was driving and it got me really intrigued so I gave it a go. Signed up, got my first book and starting listening. At first it felt a bit strange, somebody reading to me. But it didn’t take long before I found myself driving the kids to school of a morning whilst listening to my book, headphones in at the kitchen sink whilst listening to my book and washing the dishes, hoovering, cooking, cleaning, pausing quickly to remind my daughter to get her homework done, pressing play again whilst continuing my busy mum life and it just slotted in so nicely. Iv done my first book already and I can’t wait to get started with another one. I’m so glad I made the switch to audible. As much as I love to feel a good old book in my hands, audible is much more practical and means I can be mum but I can also tune into this other world that is the book I’m reading in that moment. I love it.
Best app ever, I can always listen to it when ever I want and it’s just so handy! The books are ever so entertaining and I listen to them whenever I can!!! I highly recommend the twilight series fir ANYONE over the age of 10 because they are so thrilling, romantic, emotional and scary all in one series of audiobooks! I can listen to audible whenever because you don’t need WiFi or data or even service to listen to a book! The only improvement I can think of is don’t make people pay for books, I reckon if they sign in they can listen for free buy it’s understandable why you make people pay! The books aren’t expensive though so don’t worry about cost! You can listen to a range from kids fairytales to adults drama realities! I listen to audible in the way to school in the car, on the bus, when I’m out running, when I’m cooking, when I’m in the shower, we. I’m cleaning out u horse’s stables, before bed, in the mornings and basically any chance I can get! I highly recommend it and if you download the app HAPPY LISTENING👏❤️👍🏻
Ok but also ridiculous!!
Right so... I play my iBook purchases through the audible app because I prefer the interface! But other than a bigger library of books to choose from that’s all I really like about it (although pretty much all the main big titles you’ll find anywhere). The two main things I dislike are that they don’t allow you to make purchases through the app. In a consumer driven world that’s focused on what’s convenient you can only make purchases on a PC or mobile desktop... at least as a non-member, which brings me to my next point and isn’t very good on the go! The second and the most frustrating to me is looking at a lot of the titles on my “to buy” list, without being forced to pay monthly for a membership and get these “discounts”, I searched some that I’m most interested in and every single one was more expensive than Apple are charging. Most of the time a lot more, even £10+ more. That’s ridiculous and very frustrating to feel as if you’re being bated to buy a membership that ultimately means you some how have to pay monthly to not get ripped off with the purchase prices. So disappointing but hey, enough good reviews on here shows most are happy with it. So just my recent realisation.
