Impressed apart from occasional crashes

Impressed on first run. So easy to get ideas captured. App has frozen once and would not re-run without a reinstall (running on 64MB AIR2). This is has now occurred on several occasions requiring a reinstall each time resulting in my dropping a star on my rating. This really needs fixing soon otherwise it will kill what could be a really great looper

Increased rating since recent update. Much improved stability and no freezes to date. Loads miles faster also. No problems building an 8 track loop in AUM (L7 running as an effect and switching in some fairly processor heavy synths) on an 64Gb Air2. Icing on the cake would now be separate outputs per track so you could send to your favourite DAW or process further in AUM.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, I just released an update that fixes this issue. If it works for you, would you mind updating your review? Thanks!

COULD be awesome.

Just to be clear, I am only talking about the free version here. But this is an odd one. There’s so many things that other music apps get wrong (like pre and post FX) that this one totally nails. But at the same time there are some really basic features that could make this a seriously usable app. Just adding the ability to crop your samples, or change a start point, mute a small section, or at very least add fade ins/outs, would make all the difference. Any one of those things could take this from being a toy that’s amusing for two minutes, to being something I might actually be able to use in my studio. It’s like they’ve got the hard stuff right (smooth pitch-shifting for instance), but they just seem to have skipped on the absolute basics. Also (and I might very easily have got this wrong), but the countdown you get before a recording starts seems to match the length of time that you want to record. This is a nightmare! I can’t imagine that anyone wants a countdown of less than two seconds, or more than 8 seconds, for anything musical at all. You need long enough to move from pressing record to what you actually want to record, but not so long that you forget your timing or where you are. After recording endless loops of just my fingers clicking between apps I simply gave up.

Pretty Good but small glitches

I do a lot of live looping and have synced this to AUM clock and other gear being used. MIDI mapping is useful for fx changes and transport buttons work well for stopping, starting, recording etc.

My only real complaint is the midi mapping causes crashes. For example I have two loops running and sliders of a midi controller mapped to the tremolo effect and the comb filter. If I try and change two parameters or more at the same time it often (not every time) causes a crash. If this was fixed it would be a fantastic tool. I use a work around where I use external effects after the looper in the chain.
