Simply does what it says!

A simple usable app for us still on 10.6. Quick, drag-and-drop, and automatically imports to itunes. Only minor gripe is that the icon bounces with every convertion, but it's only minor and the convertion is very quick so it's all over before you're annoyed! 5 out of 5, thanks

Watch out for 24 bit files

I have been using this for a while, converting 16 bit flac files to alac to use on my ipod classic. I've had no problems. It’s been very easy to use, just drag and drop all the files you want to convert, click the button and it converts them and transfers them to iTunes. Excellent.

But then today, I bought my first 24 bit 96kHz album (Wilder Mind by Mumford and Sons) from 7Digital. It was in flac, so I used this software to convert it, and when I listened to it through iTunes on my mac, I noticed a strange crackling sound, like some sort of interference. It actually sounded like my headphones were broken. It was worst during loud parts of the songs. It was unlistenable. I tried different headphones and not using my external amp, but it was still there. So I downloaded VLC and played the original flac files, and no distortion.

I then bought and tried using FLACTunes to re-convert the files, and no distortion.

If you don’t plan on downloading any 24bit songs, then this will work very well, but maybe try a different programme if you are going to download 24 bit flac files.
