Aurora Lighting, one of the world’s largest privately owned LED lighting and technology organisations, launched its range of smart home lighting devices in 2017 enabling homeowners to take full control of their home through their smartphone. Over the next few years more devices have been added to the range and the AOne range now features all varieties of lighting, from downlights to bulbs, switches and sockets. AOne offers a single solution for connecting your building.

This is the latest version of the AOne smart lighting system that focuses on Spaces and Scenes using a new user interface. Use our app to control, schedule and set the scene of your lighting to create new ambiances and energy saving schedules that enhance your home, and your business, more conveniently.

In combination with smart scheduling and new sensor types, you can automate your home, triggering your favourite scenes at different times of day, or when you enter your home, or office, to make your spaces intelligent.

You can now have multiple events set for the same device making the setup of your building even more flexible. Recall your preset scenes and configurations at a touch of a button from anywhere, whether you’re sitting at home, or out at work, or with friends. Supporting Amazon Alexa, you can ask her to turn your devices on or off and trigger your favourite scenes.

Switching on lighting has never been so much fun.

Starting to get there

The latest update seems a vast improvement/ much faster to load and more responsive when using.

Sunrise/sunset feature for the timing of lights is excellent.

Would be handy if the app told you what those times were somewhere and why isn’t it possible to set a light to be on for a set time - i.e. 20 minutes or an hour, or as a one off to be on until 8pm?!

Being a BETA Test Participant means that you can test upcoming updates and features before they are released to other customers. This does however mean that some issues may pop up every now and again, however, with your feedback we can investigate and resolve them before the App update is released to the general customer base. Would have happily given this app and Aurora lighting products 5 start but after the information I’ve been given today, I highly recommend that you do not buy and return if possible any smart lighting your installing or installed.

I’m am currently working through my house installing AOne smart lighting, in my garden are the RGB with white and in my house I’m running around 40 smart tuneable GU 10 lamps which are warm to cool white only.
To finish my project indoor I require around another 50, which I informed my supplier i would be needing over the next few months.

I’ve just been told that the product has been discontinued !

This now renders my smart lighting useless as I can no longer buy a spare lamp in the future should I need one.

I was offered a RGB/W variant, but having tested two in the middle of my lighting circuit, you simply cannot not get a close match, basically daylight setting looks really blue when using the RGB/W

I like to say also to Aurora lighting, dental surgeries and other places of a working environment do not want or need RGB unless it’s a pub club or Resturant.

To discontinue this lamp is quite frankly beyond comprehension.

I advise anyone who takes time to read this, spend your money on a different system.

It’s a real shame as they finally got the app working great over the last month to.

Avoid,avoid,avoid. !!!!!

Absolutely useless

Well what an opportunity missed! This could have easily, finally, given us access to the promised functionality of the AOne system. It could have made it easy to configure and powerful. It didn’t manage any of that and, worse, it’s now completely unnavigable. The interface is disastrously poor and almost impossible to operate, and the app is generally unreliable at saving and applying settings. Buttons aren’t marked (are we supposed to guess what they do?) and the whole thing feels like it was written by people with no idea what they were doing. I wasted quite a lot of money trying to build an Aurora smart lighting system with the effect that it doesn’t do a tenth of what was promised. Worse, my approaches to the UK Aurora AOne team have been ignored - and I am an authorised ‘smart installer’! The ‘smart’ thing to do is AVOID this whole system. A massive shame, as Aurora’s non-smart lighting is well-designed and reliable.
