LiveMobile has been in development for what seems like forever and the app is still borderline unusable and has inconsistent ui. That’s before you talk about the crashing, constant log outs. Time entries or stopwatches getting lost.
It’s got to the point now I write my time entries down on paper to do in the office on my laptop. My company is charged a massive amount of money every month for this and as a field engineer it’s very disappointing. The app seems to get no dedicated attention or love. I’m sure there are good devs behind it but being badly managed. I honestly think it would be better to just make their webpage responsive and we’ll just use it from mobile safari
This app is absolutely shocking. It looses your time, crashes frequently when recording entries and takes an age to load simple information, even when connected to WiFi. As a field engineer, I depend on this app to log all events throughout the day, and it drives me insane with how often it closes and stops working. It’s one of the main reasons the MSP I work for is moving away from datto/autotask
Good, but a way to go
Having played with the original Live Mobile, this app is a vast improvement over the fiddly and clunky Live Mobile. However the decision to write the app using a web setup rather than as a native app seems flawed. Whilst there has been a good job done with presentation, and the simulation of some of the iPhone selectors is good, overall the usage is sluggage with the inevitable spinner appearing with unerring frequency as you navigate. There are some limitations with using the portal - as a field engineer there are some usability issues when trying to update calls, speed notwithstanding, but with plenty of feedback in communITy forums and from the increasing array of clients using the app I'm sure this will develop into a gread addition to the engineer toolkit. As a Manager, having quick visibility of the queues and spot-checks is invaluable and helps me prepare when out and about and removes the need to find a PC and seclusion to keep an eye on the system.
