The app requires two devices: either a Mac, or an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. One device stays in the child’s room, while the other one stays with you. No registration or connection adjustments are required and initial setup takes less than 30 seconds.

Must have for parents
After being gifted an expensive baby monitor by family members, my husband and I were dissappointed to find that it was of an extremely poor quality! After some research we decided to try the Baby Monitor 3G Support App thinking that for the price even if it didn’t work amazingly it wouldn’t be the end of world! To our delight we found this monitor to be precisely what we needed in order to keep an eye on our 6 week old daughter at night!
Pros:
> The video quality is superb in comparison to some other more expensive models of baby monitors. You can comfortably see your child’s breathing movements in order to give you peace of mind that they are safe.
> The microphone is intelligent enough to only pick up any disturbance your baby makes and ignores any white noise (we had a Ewan the Dream Sheep and the monitor would cancel out its continuos drone and only focus on when our daughter would make a noise).
Cons
> Occassionally the video link will drop for a few seconds, however in its place you can retrieve a photo of your baby and the audio will continue to work. Slightly annoying, but once again for the price it is something you can gloss over.
Excellent application. Better than standalone monitors costing hundreds.
I spent ages researching standalone baby monitors. Generally the reviews are terrible. Unreliable products, poor customer service and expensive. Espically the ones from a certain company starting with M.
For curiousity I had a look in the app store and discovered Baby Monitor 3G. For 2.99 it was worth a shot.
I was surprised how useful this app is. We use it everyday to monitor our baby. Because the apple devices have far better microphones and cameras than standalone baby monitors I really believe this is the best quality monitor setup you can get.
The only thing it does not have is night vision. One solution to this is have a bedside lamp on the floor to give a bit of light in the room. This should be enough to enable the video. But generally we are happy enough using the device in audio only mode.
One suggestion for the developer is to offer support for ip cameras, that way you could support night vision. Not sure how feasible this is technically.
But overall this is an essential app for parents. I have it on my macbook, iphone and ipad. Well worth the small cost.
So Simple But So Good!
Excellent app! Got this on my iPad, iPhone and Mac. Brilliant, simple way to monitor your baby and a lot cheaper than a video monitor from the shops. Good for travelling too as we take iPad on holiday and iPhones so no need for baby monitor as extra luggage. Only once had issue with connection, but rebooted iPad and it resolved itself.
