Bagelman started in 1996 when Julian, our founder, started a one-man bagel delivery service to help fund his way through a degree at Brighton University. In response to popular demand, the first Bagelman store opened in 1999 at 7 Bond Street and since then we have gone from strength to strength; we now have a bakery serving four stores.
With that in mind, our App allows you find the nearest Bagelman stores, check-in and pay at the counter, pre-order your favourite product to skip the queue, collect and spend loyalty stamps (no more cards to lose!), keep track of your receipts and lots more.

Great idea, but needs improving
It's a great idea and I was excited to be able to order my lunch and collect it quickly. However some parts are confusing. Next to some bagels it says (hot) - which I believe means the bagel is toasted, not necessarily the filling is hot. There doesn't seem to be a way to indicate if you want a toasted or untoasted bagel. Also, I was charged VAT, assuming that's because the bagel was toasted. (Note: a toasted bagel does not make it a hot meal in my book) When I order the same bagel without the app I am not charged VAT. So that's a bit confusing, and having to pay almost £1 more makes the app not very attractive.
Then there is the topping up. My friend downloaded the app, deposited £10, then couldn't order! There is no way of getting the money back. The shop didn't know what to do either, which isn't their fault, but there should perhaps be a plan if the technology doesn't work.
I'll use it again to use up my credit, but I'm not sure if it's worth paying the vat for the convenience. I'll see what the updates are like.

Hello Barbara, sorry for the late reply and thank you for your feedback.
All our bagels which are (HOT) are put into an oven. This means the fillings are hot, the cheese is melted and the bagel is toasted. We have to charge VAT on any heated bagels or eat in food. This is the case in store and on the app. The VAT is already added to the price shown, which again is the same in store too.
