DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS APP. It's been taken out of service, and you can no longer bank with it. Its only purpose is to help existing users switch to our other app.

Our Express Login app was designed to make banking with us fast, convenient and more secure than ever on your iPad. But recent improvements to our Mobile Banking app mean this is now the best way to bank on your tablet. So switch over now. You'll still be able to do most of the things you’re used to. Plus you’ll be able to:

- Log in even more quickly with Touch ID or Face ID (if supported on your iPad)
- Deposit cheques up to £500 using your iPad’s camera
- Set up new payees without a security call
- And more.

There are some features we’re still working to bring to the Mobile Banking app, such as transaction search and view & manage account benefits. Until we do, those features can be accessed by logging into our website.

We use the latest online security measures to protect your money, your personal information and your privacy. We also have an online banking guarantee, you can find further information about our fraud guarantee by checking the Security FAQs in this app or by visiting

We won't contact you any more than normal if you use the app. But please stay alert to email, text messages or phone calls that appear to be from us. Criminals may try to trick you into giving them sensitive personal or account information. We'll never contact you to ask for these details. Any emails from us will always greet you personally using your title and surname and either the last 4 digits of your account number or the last part of your postcode '*** 1AB'. Any text messages we send you will come from BANKOFSCOT and quote the last four digits of your account number.

Mobile Banking is available to our Internet Banking customers with a UK personal account. Services may be affected by phone signal and functionality. Terms and conditions apply.

When you use this app we collect non-personally identifiable location data for security purposes, to help combat fraud, fix bugs and improve the services we can provide in the future.

Simply Fab

I’ve been using the app on both the iPhone and iPad for a few years now. I virtually never log on via my computer these days as I can do everything I need via the app. My only gripe is that the fingerprint recognition on my iPad Pro does not operate, when it does on my iPhone. A minor grumble as I know my password, so not crucial, but I’d prefer the simplicity of fingerprint log in on each device. Security features are just right for my liking, though it seems the ability to verify a new payee via the app on a second device, has been taken away, so I have to get an automated phone call. Again, not the end of the world, just a minor gripe.

Practical digital banking at its best

I've been using this app in conjunction with the app on my iPhone. The layout between the two apps is slightly different but this app is equally easy to use as the app on the iPhone and offers straight forward access for review and conducting transactions.
I've been with the App long enough to have seen well managed and welcome improvements implemented.
Now all I need is some money is there, "an App for that?"

Just awful. What are you doing?

Logged in as per usual to BOS app and got nothing but confusion. So new version of app does not work with pre IOS 10 iPads. Fine but that cuts out a helluva lot of users! So go to Apple Store and download new version which "helpfully" asked if I want to download a compatible version. Yes please! Well tough luck customer you can't! Go back to the desktop. If you try again you go round and round in a loop and just lose the will to live as someone else has pointed out.

Come on BOS fix this! Or after a life time as a customer I will be tempted to move my account to a bank that seems to be able to roll out updates a bit better!

BTW anyone interested in switching. Check out Barclays app. Seems to get rave reviews. Well worth thinking of a switch to them!

Developer Response ,

Hi, since your original review we have reversed the decision regarding our minimum OS support. We have reinstated support for iOS 9 meaning you should be able to access our app. If you still have the app on your home screen then try accessing It again. Otherwise I would suggest visiting the App Store and re-downloading the tablet app. Thanks again for your feedback and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
