Ratings and Reviews
Excellent but not using investments
I have recently returned to Banktivity (iBank) as Tags are now included and I can track expenditure on cars, houses, pets etc without setting up a cumbersome number of catagories. The automated downloads from financial institutions work well and matching to expenses that I have already added (I use the phone app to log receipts as soon as i spend) has not missed a beat. i have seen some bugs when imputting expenses...some have dissapeared only top return on a refresh but considering the functionality and ease of use I am more than happy with the app.
Hard to benefit from this upgrade?
I still use High Sierra. Mojave works slower. Some software producers created dark themes for their programmes which work on both Mojave and High Sierra. This is what I call the UPGRADE. This version should not have number 7. They only made this compatible with Mojave. OK I like the calendar but it ignores the fact that I use two currencies and shows nonsense. OK I like checking more currencies exchange rate but it takes forever to download them. It would be great to have any charts available to analyze the changes - it is BASIC feature. To find category or payee I have to enter first word. Other programs can find what I need when entering second or the last word of the name (autocompletion). When hiding sidebar the widow adjusts automaticaly to the new size but when showing that sidebar again I does not, so I can not read the data. Very disappointed.
Haven't found anything better
I used to use Microsoft Money but when I binned windows I needed a finance package, I tried a few but found Banktivity was miles ahead of others and wasn't difficult to understand after a little while trying to work out the basics.
I also use it on my iPad when I am away from the iMac and that also works very well.
Give it a try and be patient. It really works!
I have to admit that the upgrade is definitely not worth the money. I can see no difference in the operation which is shame. Come on guys! Stop charging for upgrades that are not upgrades.
