We've rebalanced the final chapter of the game. The final Bellower battle has been tuned to be more fair on Normal difficulty settings, and there are more opportunities for obtaining supplies and items in Chapter 6.
Banner Saga 1 has been updated to the latest version of the engine technology, and quite a bit of cleanup has happened under the hood. A few of the improvements seen in Banner Saga 2 have been incorporated into this build.

Ratings and Reviews
This game is beautiful, it really grips you. Don’t listen to those saying it’s too short, its depth rivals anything else on the App Store. And more instalments are on their way to further the story.
One tiny but annoying thing: during dialogues, the only way to get to the next line of text is to tap on the arrow at the bottom-center of the screen. As the iPad is held in landscape orientation while playing this is a very odd place to have to touch multiple times during dialogues. It would be much less weird/tiring to be able to tap on the right side of the screen where the thumb naturally is located. (I’m playing on an iPad mini...)

Thank you for taking the time to leave a wonderful review, and giving us your feedback.
This has made me very grumpy
Good points first: The music is astonishing for an App Store game. The plot is interesting and feels different from your average RPG. The world they’ve created feels very original, detailed and vast
Main characters can actually die, depending on your decisions so there is a proper sense of jeopardy.
However: It’s actually just a basic choose-your-own-adventure with the occasional strategic battle. The world may be vast, but you don’t get to explore it - just follow the preset path. I initially liked that there were 2 separate groups of characters to follow, but Hakon’s group basically vanish for much of the game.
The visuals are nice, but characters always hold the same poses during conversations which makes it feel rather flat.
Some of the dialogue is clunky and there appears to be the occasional word missing from the text.
And I will echo what others have said: this game is not worth £10. I can handle it being short, up to a point (as it will have some replay value). However, it just stops. This isn’t the end of the story by a long way. It doesn’t even explain what’s going on or why. I’d love to know what happens next but there’s no way I’m paying another tenner for part 2!

Best mobile game out there
What a game. The beautiful art, music and narrative are blended with absorbing tactical gameplay to result in the best mobile game I’ve ever played. The choices you make have a tangible impact and have genuine emotional weight. This is a game that lingers long in the mind, even after you’ve finished its relatively short running time. I first played it a few years ago and have downloaded it again today so I can play it again. After I’ve finished I’ll certainly be buying Banner Saga 2. I can’t recommend this game enough.
