We are powered by Barclays bringing over 300 years of banking experience to the team. Barclays also hold the ISO27001 Kitemark. This shows our (Barclays) compliance in meeting rigorous technical standards.

The power of just a phone number

We like to keep things simple so once you’re all set up you’ll no longer have a need for sort codes and account numbers. We just use your phone number as your unique identifier making payments so it’s easier to check that you’ve sent it to the right person.

You don’t need to bank with Barclays to use us either, we’re open to everyone. As long as you’re 16 or older, have a UK mobile phone number and are a resident of, and have a current account in, the UK, the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey.

We’ve helped take away those awkward money moments

Whether it’s you chasing that mate, or them chasing you (you? No, never!) we’ve covered that too. Paying them back is easy, and they don’t even need to have Pingit. Simply choose who you owe, tap in the amount and hit send.

Or if you need to get that money your owed, create yourself a unique payment link, go nuts (we don’t judge). Head over to jar or ‘Request’ and tap who owes you, enter the amount, and hit send. We’ll send that reminder for you.

Spending with Pingit

You can order your free Pingit card once you’ve registered with us. All you need is one card for all of your accounts with Pingit. No need to transfer funds, just move your card to one of your jars instead.

We’ve also included all those handy features to manage your card in app so you can temporarily freeze it and/or report it lost and stolen if you’re ever in a sticky situation.

If you like to spice up your wardrobe and how you pay, you can choose one of our wearable contactless devices. From watches, bracelets, keyrings to travel cups.

Fundraise with us

For when you’re feeling angelic, we’ve created a fee-free fundraising platform with over 1,400 charities. And if your charity isn’t in the list, you can request to get them added.

Give your page a catchy title, let your donors know what you’re doing and set your goal amount. You can share your page direct from the app to your social networks or send it direct to your contact list.

If people want to donate they don’t need to have Pingit. They can use their UK debit and the charity will receive 100% of each donation (including any Gift Aid).

Requires developer work

The app worked very well in the past and I had no issues. I have not used it for a while 12+months and when opened it today was told I had no connection to to check my connection and signal strength.
I checked mobile data was on for the app, and Wi-Fi was also on. I turned off Wi-Fi as well as trying other apps to connect to the internet without problem. (The app seemed to set up without issue from my banking app and change phones without problem).
It also lists in my contacts the person I am sending to has a Pingit account (I assume by the “P” next to her name.) Yet now tells me she doesn’t have an account when click her name. (I have sent payments to her previously via pingit).
I never had any issues when using it in he past, yet I have given the current version up as a bad job, although I am sure it will be easily fixed.

Hi there, thanks for review. It's a bit strange that you aren't able to connect when you can do so with other apps, I want to get this sorted for you. Could you go into your settings and find the app in your list and afterwards when you select the app, ensure mobile data is allowed whilst using the app please? In regards to your friend, have you confirmed with her if she still have a Pingit account open? The reason I ask is because if her Pingit account has been closed you wouldn't be able to send her anymore payments I'm afraid. -Dylan

Crashes every time for 6 weeks no fix

By far the worst iPhone app I have the misfortune to try to use. For over 6 weeks I haves tried to add a payment chip and it crashes every time. Apple really need to investigate this - it’s not some free game to play with; it is a financial app with customer bank details regulated by the finically services authority. Who knows what security issues are inside the app if they can’t even get register device to work. Search twitter and read about all the issues and false promises of help/resolution. The app even has built in crash dump email - a really bad sign !

Hi there, I'm sorry you're being affected by this. This issue happens where customers click spend > add device, then the app will crash. This is only impacting iPhone 8s and lower – mainly iPhone 6s and below and we're looking to fix it as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience. -Amiee


Doesn't support older iOS versions

I was transferred to this app after bPay was closed. I would t be bothering with it if it wasn't for the simple band that I can give to my mother to shop. The app requires the latest iOS version (13.1.2 at the moment) and I don't want to upgrade to it as I don't like the newer looks. When I tried logging in I couldn't as the error message just said Upgrade to latest version - no clue whether that's latest app or latest iOS. Almost no online help, FAQ section has just a few basic items. I emailed them, after 4 or 5 days got a reply telling me I had to call them. I did and was told I needed the latest iOS. If I want to close my account I have to apparently go to Barclays branch. The whole set up process was lengthy and I had to provide all sorts of information including what I work, who I work for and how much I earn. The top up based on balance isn't working and I can only set regular fixed top ups.
On a second thought, I might just give a normal credit card to my mother and forget about this.

Hi there, apologies you're facing issues, I can appreciate you don't like the look however it's important to keep that up to date to make sure your phone is still being kept secure by the OS provider.
