If you have a smart meter which we’re communicating with, you can:
• Understand your energy usage at half-hourly*, daily or monthly intervals and what you’re forecasted to use
• Set yourself alerts to identify when you’ve used more energy than expected
• Compare how much energy you’ve used with other similar homes
• If for any reason your meter is offline, you can send us meter readings
*Half-hourly and daily information based on the data you consent to sharing with us

So much information

So I have a S1 smart meter that was fitted 2 years ago by my last energy company, Bristol Energy can read it as well and I have changed the settings for readings to be done every half hour before they were set to daily. I have so much information now about cost and what I am using and it’s such a easy app to use.

Server not responding

Seemed to work initially, couldn’t try everything as I’m a new customer and account not yet fully set up - it wouldn’t accept meter readings.

Now it tries to connect but just says server not responding.

Update - a week after switching the app shows some unrecognised serial numbers for our meters. It still gives a meaningless error message if I try to submit meter readings.

The website shows the gas meter ID and accepted a gas reading but not the electric. Error message says ring them.

When I ring the number given the robot tells me to use the app or online account - yeah, right! So patronising!

I hold on and eventually speak to a guy who doesn’t seem to have a clue. He eventually takes the electric readings but he can’t answer any questions. I’ve no confidence the meter readings will be properly lodged.

No response to any enquiries submitted online, days later.

So far unimpressed by their systems or customer service.

Ofgem should get involved!

Makes my life easier

Free app, easy to use, runs smoothly, shows me my monthly usage compared to previous years, very easy to submit my meter readings, easy to contact Bristol Energy, who are actually very responsive (keep this up please Bristol Energy, it’s one of the reasons I’m staying with you!). Overall verdict 5/5 yes I recommend this app.
