IDENTIFY ANY UK BUMBLEBEE
Ever wondered what that UK bumblebee was in your garden? Bee ID helps you successfully identify any UK bumblebee, based on a range of 14 features such as pollen sacs, number of abdomen stripes or wing colour. Quick and easy to use, Bee ID progressively filters out bumblebees with each feature selected, until you are left with a small selection. A positive identification is possible even from a limited set of features, so you don't necessarily have to have a perfect view of the bumblebee, or a microscope!
LEARN ABOUT UK BUMBLEBEES
Bee ID uses a comprehensive database of 91 colour forms of the 25 British bumblebees. You can browse photos, and a description for each species, plus see a list of their identifying features. The in-app help includes a detailed description and picture showing every attribute of every feature that can be selected.
RECORD YOUR SIGHTINGS
It’s easy to keep a list of the bumblebees you've spotted using Bee ID. You can keep track of where and when you've seen a bumblebee. You can also add notes and your own photograph.
This update fixes an issue where iOS 11 users could not scroll the description text.

I just paid £5.99 for this. I am hugely disappointed that the bumblebee conservation trust recommended it. The main narrative page will not scroll up and stops mid sentence. I presume no-one would fund the IOS 11 upgrade required for the previous ID app I have used for a number of years. Too expensive for what it does.

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. An updated version was released on 14 Oct 2017 that fixes this issue.
Paid £5.99 to have something that opens and then just shuts down. Tried a restart, but no luck. Other than the images on the store, never seen what the app is like.

There was an issue with the early version of this app, that was fixed in April 2016. Please update the app and try it again.
A lovely app
What a lovely app. It has loads of info on each species and lots of beautiful bee pics. But the really clever thing is the filter feature that allows you to home in not only on the species but also on whether it is a worker, queen or male. It seems to be working well even without a network connection so I guess it can be used in remote places. Looking forward to saving all my sightings so I have a good record of what I've seen and where. It's also nice to know I'm supporting BBCT by buying this.
