- If you care about fair odds, this is the most important point so I put it first. When you play a rare gem at the end you get a board with an apparent “1 in 9” chance to get a high prize. So I tested it. I played 100 rare gems and each time I clicked the same spot. In a completely fair game the prize should have landed in that spot about 11 times. Nope, 0 times. So that theoretical 11% chance you might expect from a 1 in 9 choice game is actually less than a 1% chance. I’m confident that anything luck based in this game will be rigged. So the good news is this. I haven’t spent anything on this game, nada, nothing. Have I watched the same ad over and over? Yes but usually I just put the phone down for 15 seconds and actually interact with the world or stare out a window. There’s no *need* to spend money. The base game mode with no special gems is always free so there’s no pay walls to hop if you just want to play. In fact, with the luck based bs I mentioned above I’d avoid spending money. Progress will be slow if you don’t have patience with the daily spin or if you struggle to get some high scores in the blitz champion board but tbh, the nature of the game is such that I’ve never played it for “progress” since it’s played in quick rounds. So yeah, complaints are legitimate but I find it perfectly easy to play and enjoy without dumping the contents of my wallet into it.

I’ve been playing this game for many years, but all of a sudden there is a 30 second advert after EVERY game! When I first stated playing, there were no adverts. Whilst I understand most developers require adverts to pay for ‘free’ games - a developer such as EA surely do not require this. If I must endure adverts, make it the 10 seconds or so as it was last week - that would earn you an extra star...Another thing I have noticed is that if I play on my MacBook - it gets very hot! There are no other games or Apps which cause this... My iPhone, however, does not get hot...Now they have monitised the game so much that the game now ‘crashes’ after the annoying ads. They have now decided that adverts are more important than not only the gameplay but also their customers.

This was my favourite app . But I will no longer be playing it. The latest upgrade shows updated terms which basically give me no option to manage cookies and therefore opt out of those which will share my data. In their NEW privacy policy , by agreeing to it … to quote …” I consent to the transfer of any personal information collected through my use of EA's Services, to the United States as further explained in the Privacy & Cookie Policy. PRIVACY AND COOKIE POLICY OF THE USER AGREEMENT CONTINUE” . It goes on to say basically , if I do not consent to EA sending my private data to the US I should not play any of their games ! In fact I find myself reading a message which though ‘polite’ is basically saying ‘agree to all our terms or sling your hook and don’t play our games’ . Absolutely disgusting. The security of my data and the harassment caused through cookies , is of the utmost concern to me and I never agree nor consent to having my data shared . EA probably couldn’t care less if I don’t play their games any more as they probably have millions worldwide who just hit the ‘agree’ button without checking what they are agreeing to. But let this be a warning to those who never check the contents of ‘agreements’ you are saying yes to your private data info being transferred, in my case , half way around the world! For what? / whom ? ….. George Orwell got it right didn’t he?
