Simple but useful
A straightforward tool to help with decision analysis, Best Decision provides decision templates for e.g. house-buying, job vacancy candidate assessment, etc. and can also be used to create your own custom decision template. Decide on the criteria you'll use to assess the options, weight them to emphasise those which are more important to you, and then rate each option according to the criteria you chose. The app then scores the options and ranks them. Yes, you could do all this yourself … but the built-in templates provide a good starting point, and the app is simple to use. It helps make decision-making a bit more objective.
Helps my decision making….
I’ve been using this app for a while now and have used it to help me make the best decision on the following subjects:
Should I Sell or Stay and Improve my house.
Should I take an offer for full time employment or continue in my part time role.
Should I buy a new car, Motorhome or a motorbike.
Should I move to the coast, country or town
And finally it’s currently assisting me in my decision making regarding my new home where I’m able to mark all the shortlisted properties against a laid down set of criteria.
All big decisions I’m sure you’d agree and none you should attempt to decide without the added bonus of this app.
Simple but lacks optionality and is expensive
I used to have an excellent decision-making app but it, sadly, got withdrawn from the App Store. I was, therefore, looking for a replacement. I came across this one and it looked OK. You basically decide on a question, come up with some alternative answers, decide on what criteria matter most to you and weight them, and the app then comes up with a decision. It’s simple and fairly intuitive but all a bit limited and underwhelming. There are some templates with set questions but they’re a limited and random motley crew. I expected much more for the price so only three stars, I’m afraid.
