Description

Bibots is a top-down shooter rogue like with an emphasis on bullet hell action. Explore and clear areas full of monsters, unlock abilities, customize your character and save the world!

Play as Tayar, the crob explorer and the unexpected savior of his world, Takaful. Pick your guns, guts and go counter the plans of an evil mastermind. Tayar is not alone to accomplish this feat, chosen by a Bibot (actually luckily stumbled upon one) he gains the ability to transform into one of those ancient mechanical creatures. Each Bibot has his own strengths, try them all and pick your favourite according to your own playstyle.

Venture through mysterious temples in a colourful world full of characters to discover but also inhabited by dangerous monsters. The world is divided into regions, each with its own atmosphere to discover. The regions are procedurally generated and contain hand crafted battle rooms, treasures, merchants and secrets changing each time you play. Protect your home from vile enemies corrupting the fauna and threatening Takaful.

Choose the Bibot that will join Tayar in his epic journey, accumulate energy during your fights and use it to summon the devastating power of these mechanical beings. Each Bibot has its own playstyle and abilities, use them to fight your toughest enemies or save yourself from impossible situations. Learn to master them! The more you fight with the same Bibot, the more its synergy with Tayar will increase, unlocking new variants of its attacks to customize them before going into battle.
Equip Tayar with a variety of weapons which you can customize with chips that you will find while exploring or encountering merchants. Experiment and combine their effects to customize your playstyle and create the weapons of your dream with countless possibilities and powerful synergie.

Accumulate experience during your fights to improve Tayar's skills. Make it a survivalist, a soldier, a scientist or mix it all up. Each branch grants you access to permanent passives upgrading a wide range of skills and offering you new possibilities to enhance the synergy between Tayar and his Bibot.

Die, try and repeat to break your records… Or well, to save the world!

Potential

As a enter the gungeon player and rogue-lite fanatic this game quickly attracted my attention and I can say for its first day out it has its potential. However, it lacks in many things that make a rogue-lite stand out.

For example:
- lacks diversity in weapons: most weapons are nearly identical with the exception of some rare ones. Even with chips, they still feel bland and some genuinely unusable. There needs to be a greater variety to these guns as I thought a rogue lite out of all game genres should have a wide armament.
- Runs aren’t rewarding: after a run all you do is simply start a new one. That’s it. Even though the runs may be fun at times playing for what seems a small upgrade to your bibot is simply just disappointing. Being able to beat your first boss for a single upgrade? Honestly sad. There should be currency that we can use to buy new Bibots or upgrade bibots ourself after every run. Cosmetics and more could also be an option.
- Difficulty: Difficulty is really subjective but I feel like this game is well balanced UNTIL you get to boss fights where I feel like most of the time Bibots simply feel too weak. However, I also think there should be a reward to beating the game and difficulty modifiers which reward the player for playing on said difficulty. There are also an unforgiving amount of enemies and rooms in the early levels which continues until into other biomes. Feels repetitive and just boring after some point. There should be mix ups between biomes!

Lastly these are some nit picks but things I found disappointing or just Need to be improved:

- main menu: boring and simply unfun to look at
- there should be a main lobby after pressing play. Going straight into a game after choosing your character almost feels to straight forward. I would love to have a main lobby where my characters are with maybe a feature to costomize it with artifacts you may find or runs etc.
- controls: controls for me personally are too close and some, like the dash button, are too small. There should be an option where you can move and resize each individual button for better control experience.

In the end thanks for reading, hope this reached the devs and they are looking into such things. In my opinion, take further inspiration from games like soul knight, dead cells and enter the gungeon to elevate this game and it will truly shine after a few fixes.

ZombeFarmer ,

It’s has tons of potential but the controls are bad.

I mean the game is great, looks like a very polished rogue-lite. BUT the controls are horrendous, who in their right mind doesn’t give an option for a sticky virtual joystick? Why the only option for it is to be fixed in the very corners of you phone screen? I mean how ridiculous! The market for mobile games right now is huge, I don’t understand how devs didn’t pick up on such a simple thing as customisable UI/controls. Even the ability to move the fixed joysticks would improve the game dramatically. I mean my thumbs aren’t tiny and short, sorry! Makes the game almost unplayable and definitely unenjoyable. Otherwise the game is great, just really needs controls revamp or more options for customisation. I won’t delete/refund the game and wait for an update, I’ll change my rating then.

Just had a look at the developer’s other games, I actually have at least 4 of their other titles on my phone, they should really know what they are doing. Hopefully an update is soon.

Frustrating

So near, yet so far. I want to like this game, I really do, but as I’ve been unable to exit the equipment upgrade room for the second time today, I’ve given up. Don’t worry, you might be thinking, just exit the app and reload it as it’s bound to have saved your progress. You would think that and you’d be wrong. This game has no save. It is saveless. You exit the app and you start all over and begin to pray you score an epic weapon to help you beat the randomness of facing that first boss; but you don’t, and you die. Again. Or you get stuck in an equipment room. Again.
