Quality but too expensive
Probably my fault for expecting too much but far too expensive for what it does my bmw logo went from a m5 to I don’t know what symbol came up I only wanted m sport but never mind I’d say it’s worth only £10 but you only find out too late as with everything
‘free’ version very limited
What it doesn’t say is that the ‘free’ version merely connects to the car and reads the current settings. You cannot save any changes without paying for the full version.
So far I have connected to my F25 with one of the approved adaptors, and I have made some changes (with the full version) which have worked. Connection via wifi is the usual mixed bag that you get when you connect an iPhone to something that does not have an internet connection, but I was expecting that.
The interface is straight forward enough, though it is not easy to work out what will work and what will not. Still much to learn, but I remain positive.
Good but missing a fundamental feature for my car
So the apps good and easy to use however it’s missing a fundamental feature for my car, changing the brightness of the Angel Eyes.
This option is available but I’ve been told by the developer that the app doesn’t currently support my type of car and there are plans to implement just not yet - that was a couple months ago. (BTW I’ve got a new 2 series with iDrive 7 and the latest ECU software)
I do look forward to this feature if it ever does arrive. Apart from that, the rest of its good.
