Blackmums is the app I've been searching for throughout my motherhood journey. Finally, there's a space where I can connect with other Black mothers who truly understand our unique experiences - from the daily joys to the specific challenges we face. The community here is incredibly supportive and authentic. It feels like having a virtual sisterhood of mothers who just get it, who can share resources, advice, and encouragement that's culturally relevant. This app fills such an important gap in the parenting space.

I hate tearing things downs especially a blacked on thing but I have to be honest. It’s such a shame because I wanted to rate this app soooo much higher. When I first heard about this app I was so excited about it as I’m in my last trimester and wanted to find some friends on the same journey as me.

At first I absolutely loved it but soon realised it was quiet boring and slow paced. I loved that there were so many people on there that I could relate to but I found it very hard to connect. The chat part is the worst you don’t get notifications, you cannot delete or edit chats and the chats glitch which means you often send messages to the wrong people.

They have said for a couple of weeks now there is a new update coming soon so let’s see hopefully it changes the whole experience.

Honestly, the safe space I’ve ever come across as a black mother. Couldn’t recommend enough if you’re a first time mother or pregnant you definitely need this app as there’s loads of other black mothers not just across the UK but across the world on it it’s so easy to find a connection you just swipe and it connects you with a similar model with similar interest in your local area.
