Blockudoku is an original combination of sudoku and block puzzle games. It’s a simple yet challenging puzzle you won’t be able to put down. Match blocks in lines and squares to remove. Keep the board clean and beat your high score. How to play: - Drop the blocks on the 9x9 grid. - Fill up lines and squares to keep the board clean. - Complete Daily Challenges and get unique trophies. - Join Seasonal Events and get unique animated postcards. - Compete against other players in Tournaments, beat your high score, and climb the leaderboard. - Destroy several elements at once to make a Combo. - Make several successful moves in a row to get a Streak. How to become a Blockudoku master? • There is no time limit, so no rush. Think one step ahead if you're faced with a difficult move. It might be your last. • Try to place blocks on the board to destroy lines or 3x3 squares with every move to keep the board from filling up. • Find your zen by balancing between destroying figures as quickly as possible and getting as many combos and streaks as you can to score higher. • Score more points by making streaks. The emptier the board is – the better for you! • It's always risky to wait for a good block – you could run out of moves fast. When you see a chance to destroy any figure, do it. Random not always best

I love the idea of the game but I think the experience and strategy side of it could be enhanced. 1. Random piece selection by the engine makes life difficult because there are so many pieces so you can’t build with the expectation of a specific shape coming up because the odds are too low. Some shapes are more difficult to play with so this could be improved by keeping it random but tilting the probabilities away from the tough pieces slightly and towards the easy pieces. 2.. also random means you can get the same shape twice or even (rarely) three times. These can be extra difficult to place. The engine could only be able to pick a shape once in each three piece cycle. 3. Finally it is possible to go multiple turns where line or box creation is simply impossible. A lovely board can turn ugly in three turns. The engine could randomly decide if this each turn will be a normal random turn or if it is a ‘friendly” turn where some combination of the pieces on offer will form a line or box if you look hard enough to find it. The game is great and I would like the current version to remain as an option for “totally random play” but I suspect that the above tilts would maintain the integrity of a random tile selection process but shift the game more towards the use of tactics and skill and away from dealing with the random slings of fate.

Really good game, quite addictive. Ads are extremely excessive and intrusive. As my 5 year old took a big interest in the game I decided that £4.99 would be an ok amount to pay to remove the ads for the both of us to use as the app supported family sharing. Unfortunately I hadn't noticed the small print and annoyingly my paying £4.99 has only removed the ads on my iPad. I have downloaded the app to my daughters iPad using family sharing yet she still has the extremely annoying, intrusive and excessive ads on her iPad. Such a shame and very frustrating. I do not think the game is worth paying a further £4.99 to get it ad free on her iPad and I do not think this game should be advertised as supporting family sharing when you gain nothing from sharing it that you don’t get by just downloading it without the use of family sharing. I will be removing it from my daughters iPad as the ads are far to easily accidentally clicked on and also some seemed not suitable for a 5 year old to be watching too even though the app is advertised as being for age 4 upwards.I have updated this review to 4 stars after receiving a response from the developer. After following their advice I have managed successfully to get the app ad free on both mine and my daughter’s ipads. Only haven’t given 5 stars as £4.99 is quite expensive to get the app ad free and the game really isn’t playable with any kind of flow with the ads and as I said above it is unsuitable for a child to play with this level of ads.

Edit: new update has ads interrupting play. I find this highly off-putting when trying to focus. Might be enough to put me off playing. Dropped a star.*I love this app exactly as it is. It’s so fun and challenging. There’s no annoying adverts interrupting your play, you can play an easy or a hard level (daily or main), and you can play for hours or minutes depending on how much time you have. I also love how you don’t need to play all the little “easy levels” like in some apps. So boring. I disagree with ppl saying it’s not good enough being randomly generated, because I’ve played this game while I’m sick with a neurological condition, plus I’ve played it while I’m healthy & well. And my score literally changes by tens of thousands. Meaning I can’t get a high score when sick “because it’s too hard” - aka I’m not smart enough, but that’s not the fault of the game! If you’re smart enough you can get a very high score. The only thing I think is terrible is the advert. I found this game via a search but I recently saw the advert for it while I was playing another game. And it looks sooo crap. It doesn’t look anything like the actual gameplay (which is so much better!) All I can say is lying in adverts is going to target the wrong audience. If I had seen the advert first I would never have downloaded it. Please don’t change the app it’s perfect as it is :)

Edit- the game once again works without needing an internet connection. Thank you. In response to your comment about purchasing the option, users on all games and apps should not be bullied into making a purchase. I understand the reason, that app developers ultimately are a company with a need for profit; however the decision should remain with the users and their enjoyment should remain a priority. Adverts are a plague to us users, so finding a game that allows us the option to play casually in an ad free oasis is a necessary thing. Taking away our ability to choose, with us understanding that we willingly miss out on certain events or in game bonuses, is really disheartening. I have also edited my rating to reflect my thanks.——I have been playing since December 2019 & have all the daily level trophies, excluding August 2022. During the last week an update has been done and the game no longer works without internet. Needless to say I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated. This was my go to for commuting, long journeys, caravan holidays at the seaside, and other ventures where WiFi is not available. Considering some levels can easily be lost within seconds of starting it is incredibly annoying to have an advert in between attempts. For an update like this, one which forces players to sit through multi-exit ads at a rapid rate, it’s just insulting. I’m sure the majority of us aren’t children, we just want a puzzle that requires some problem solving to chill to- we don’t have the time or patience to put up with this. Bravo devs for ruining a wonderful game! As a side comment, if I didn’t previously get 33 months of enjoyment, I would have given a 1 star rating and immediately deleted the game if downloaded and tried today.

You need an internet connection to load daily challenge levels and then you can turn off the internet and continue the game.
