It's quite good

I like this app, especially since the recent updates. Downloading books from the cloud is easy and quite quick - I tried both Dropbox and Google. It looks nice and plays the audiobooks as you would expect. A few additions would make a real 5 star app.

Additional: Recent updates have added iCloud support, so my number 2 below is no longer relevant. Unfortunately an autoplay switch and metadata support are still not available.

1: The ability to turn off autoplay - my audiobooks are mainly off-air recordings of drama and comedy programmes and I don't want the next episode to automatically play. Some people will like autoplay, so having a switch to turn it on or off would be very useful.

2: Add iCloud support. Cloud support is the reason I got this app, but there is no iCloud. I've got both Dropbox and Google Drive, but iCloud would be a useful addition. [added]

3: Provide an Info button for individual tracks/episodes/chapters to access (not necessarly edit) the metadata in the file. My "audiobooks" contain much metadata - title and author of course, but also a synopsis of the programme, actors and performers names, etc. None of these can be seen in the app. I would like to be able to see them.

I still like the app and think it is much better than the iBooks app and its big advantage is clould support.

No Apple Watch support

This app fills a real gap in the market by allowing you to play your audio books from cloud storage without having to import them into iTunes. In this regard, this app is utterly liberating and transformative.

Bound is my number 1 app which I use the most. I would have given this app 5 stars had it not been for the fact that there is no Apple Watch support, and that really lets it down for me.

I listen to audio books a lot, the Apple Watch is a fantastic adjunct to the iPhone and frees you from having to keep getting it out of your pocket. While I can use the Now Playing app/complication to control currently playing, it doesn’t always know which audio source I want and often switches to music which is most unhelpful.

Also, if I want to leave my phone behind, you can only listen to things that have been downloaded to the watch.

It would be really cool if there was a Bound watch app component which could synchronise with the phone and keep the watch up to date with the next 5 or so hours of the books up were currently listening to so that you could use your watch to listen without the phone when you needed to.

Great little app

This is fantastic little app, much more usable than the native Books app. The ability to use cloud accounts is a godsend. The only features it doesn’t have, and the only reason I didn’t give five stars, are a search function (I have many audiobooks, and this would be preferable to constantly scrolling up and down) and perhaps a filter, making it possible to show only unplayed/unfinished titles. Other than than, it’s great.
