Breathe2Relax is a portable stress management tool which provides detailed information on the effects of stress on the body and instructions and practice exercises to help users learn the stress management skill called diaphragmatic breathing.Breathing exercises have been documented to decrease the body’s ‘fight-or-flight’ (stress) response, and help with mood stabilization, anger control, and anxiety management. Breathe2Relax can be used as a stand-alone stress reduction tool, or can be used in tandem with clinical care directed by a healthcare worker. Breathe2Relax now uses HealthKit and your Apple Watch device to measure your heart rate throughout your breathing exercise to help provide an even more complete picture of the relaxation experienced.

Longer sessions needed

It would great if there was the option for longer sessions based on minutes. For example 5’ and 10’ session options would be great to have. Otherwise a very good app to use!

Fabulous way to learn relaxing breathing

This app is very simple but very effective. The 16 cycles are perfectly timed to achieve maximum relaxation. After doing this app for several days I can calm my breathing myself just by visualising the app. It looks like a very simple app which doesn’t do much but it did everything I needed and doesn’t require expensive add ons. Highly recommended.

This one is staying!

I am a mental health professional and I've downloaded loads of relaxation/meditation applications searching for some that I could recommend to my patients, and that I could use in sessions to illustrate some points to them. I have deleted 90% of he ones I downloaded, but this one is definitely staying! The animation explaining the biology of anxiety is priceless. My clients find it a lot easier to understand the negative biofeedback loop that increases worry and anxiety even further. Practising diaphragmatic breathing with the metronome makes it a lot easier to grasp, and the option to time your own typical breathing rhythms is genius. I am impressed. Well done!
