The National Championship Air Races, better known as the Reno Air Races, takes place at Stead airport a few miles north of Reno, Nevada, where, for five days, pilots in several categories of plane compete on circuits marked out by pylons in the desert. The racing aircraft reach speeds in excess of 500/mph – by far the fastest-moving machines of all motorsports!

THE GAME

Great for free.....but hate tilt controls.....to hard!

Fabulous for free..and worthy a download for sure. Multiplayer works so well, easy to get in a game and great fun but soooo wish the you could have joystick controls like StormRaiders. The controls for that game work perfectly!!! I personally am not a fan of the tilt action on any game. I like old fashioned, good old joystick on the left corner of the screen to make it far easier to control. Hopefully an update will bring this into play for manual control and different online tracks....I'm sure they will in due course. But awesome otherswise. Thanks! A good game that's had thorough design and testing! Pity controls a not manual like StormRaiders.

This game has the best feel of any iPad flying game I have come across. It would be good to know what is and what isn't modelled (prop torque, rudder drag etc), and what they plan to add. Biggest obvious reality gap is the rudder - in a real aircraft when you apply rudder you get roll as well, so you have to apply opposite stick to counteract if you don't want it. That kind of stuff (as well as throttle control), would turn this into a truly five star game. I'd happily pay £4.99 or so up front; rather that than freemium tedium anyway.
